Kenevist (Persian: كنويست, also Romanized as Kenevīst; also known as Kanvīst, Kanvīs, Kanavīs, Kanāwez, Kaneh Bīst, Kanvis, and Kenevīs)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Kenevist Rural District of the Central District of Mashhad County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[4] It was previously the capital of Meyami Rural District.[5]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 3,218 in 792 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,356 people in 976 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,695 people in 1,082 households. It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
