This page contains article guidelines for writing Japan-related articles. It should prove useful to beginning as well as veteran editors.

Intro paragraph

Always use the {{Nihongo}} template when introducing articles about a Japanese subject. You can learn more about the usage of the template by reading the Manual of Style entry as well as by clicking on the link for the template earlier in this paragraph.

References

In the reference section of articles, use the following code so the references appear smaller than the main article text. This gives a visual clue that the references are not part of the main article body.

{{reflist}}

Stubs

You can find a list of Japan-related stubs Category talk:Japan stubs. Please use these stubs if they apply, rather than using {{Japan-stub}}.
