Meiji Jingu, Oldest baseball park?

Hello, I am very new to wikipedia posting. This is my first discussion posting. If I am posting to this discussion incorrectly, please excuse me.

Three or four years ago I noticed a plaque in Meji Jingu Stadium stating when the stadium was built and that Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig played there. And, that Meiji Jingu stadium was the second oldest baseball park. It was second to Yankee Stadium in New York. Well, now Yankee Stadium, the original, is no more. So, now Meiji Jingu Stadium is the oldest park. Can anyone confirm this? It is very cool if it is true. Swallows should really play this up. I know that the Japanese tend to not like "old", but it is a great old park and tradition in baseball is a good thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hypersmith (talk • contribs) 13:50, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Baseball in Japan up for deletion, so let's fix it

JJ98 has nominated Portal:Baseball in Japan for deletion (see here). I've updated the portal with a few more selected articles and biographies, but I need help selecting pictures to put into the Selected pictures section. There are a lot of potential selections over here. Please help by finding the best images in this category (and its subcategories) and posting them here so we can then improve that part of the portal. I appreciate any help! ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 01:09, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, not much in the way of assistance from anyone so far, so I've added 6 more images to the Selected pictures section on the portal. If anyone wants to help and add some other great images, that would be very helpful. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 03:48, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can try to pump it up a bit. I've been trying to beef up the Japanese baseball articles on wiki for awhile now, but it's slow going. I started work on this portal awhile ago, but I can give it another go! --TorsodogTalk 04:46, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I was wrong. I've never touched this portal lol. I just assumed I did because I worked so hard on Portal:Japan and am into the NPB. Well, now I have a new project I guess. --TorsodogTalk 04:48, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RFC on the Manual of style for Japan-related articles

Please come participate in the discussion on changing Romanization in the Japan-related manual of style. Thanks! ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 17:15, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Manual of style again

I well missed the discussion on the manual of style but I wanted to raise something in regards to player names. Baseball has a romanization system already. All the names of players are available on the NPB English website and I was wondering what the best practice is. Do we insert the maccrons as per the "Japan related-articles" style guide, or do we stick with what the NPB has listed? I personally lean toward the NPB style but I was wondering what other opinions were out there. Having done up a few Draft Meeting pages now it'd be good to get a handle on it asap before I go much further.Cynikles (talk) 03:29, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
