– Typhoon Haishen of this year is the only one of its name to impact land whatsoever as well as the only Haishen with an independent article. The only other Typhoon Haishe, in 2002 did not impact land and does not have an article. This most recent Haishen is also by far the most notable, again by being the only Haishen to impact land, as well as being tied for the most intense tropical cyclone this year. Note: Typhoon Haishen is a set index article (not a disambiguation page) with significant content, and so must also be renamed to make way for the first proposed page move. This request has been modified to reflect that fact. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 00:40, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: even taking recency bias into account, the 2020 storm is clearly the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. I would move Typhoon HaishenTyphoon Haishen (disambiguation) to keep it consistent with other Pacific typhoon disambiguation pages. (See Category:Pacific typhoon disambiguation pages)  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 05:45, 3 October 2020 (UTC) The opposes below have convinced me that a move would not be the best choice at this moment.  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 16:30, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - The standard is only to move if a storm had significant impact or the name was retired. NoahTalk 21:22, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - A storm is not to be moved unless there is a significant impact or the name was retired. So I'm with Hurricane Noah above. In fact, the 2020 Typhoon Haishen's impact is merely on the southern portion of Japan and, by extension, the southern tip of South Korea. Hansen SebastianTalk 05:28, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose wait for the full details of the impact and/or the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee's meeting next year. The details that are currently available do not indicate why 2020's Haishen is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC right now. JavaHurricane 04:28, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose We should refrain from moving around articles if a longer term impact can be established. Such requests should be asked at least one year after the event. --Matthiasb (talk) 08:15, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
