The contents of the Fishing industry in Japan page were merged into Agriculture, forestry, and fishing in Japan on 7 February 2018. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page.
There seems to be a discrepancy between this article, which says that 15% of the land is suitable for cultivation, and the article on Japan's economy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Japan#Agriculture_and_fishery), which says that 12% is suitable for cultivation.
This article is majorly out of date and relies upon information from the Library of Congress's 1994 study. In fact, the majority of the articles seems to be copy-pasted from this out-of-date study. Please consider a complete overhaul. anon
