  • (Discuss)Motor LaunchMotor launch (naval) – This title is miscapitalized and is ambiguous with Motor launch; both capitalizations should redirect to Launch (boat). Since this article is specifically about the naval use, the parenthetical disambiguator seems like a good way to distinguish (and it's not just the Royal Navy, as the article shows). Previous claims that this term is a proper name to the Royal Navy are not born out by evidence from sources (to be provided and discussed at length). Dicklyon (talk) 22:35, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Nemo (rapper)Nemo (singer) – Article describes Nemo as a rapper and a singer; singer is a broader term so should probably be used here. Note the German article this was translated from no longer uses the term rapper in the title, even as a redirect. GnocchiFan (talk) 20:12, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Pierre Alonzo (footballer)Pierre Alonzo – There is no other person on in the English Wikipedia with the name Pierre Alonzo. Somehow, a disambiguation page was created, because one of writer Richard E. Hughes's pseudonyms happens to be Pierre Alonzo. However, this could have just been a hatnote at the top of this article. Hughes even appears to have a dozen pseudonyms, with no indication that any are notable enough to create disambiguation pages. Pierre Alonzo doesn't even seem to be his primary pseudonym per that article. Overall, this football player and manager seems to have clear PRIMARYTOPIC over the title "Pierre Alonzo", and we can just put a hatnote instead for Hughes's pseudonym. • (Discuss)Manpool → Northern England supercity – With reference to the article title criteria, "Northern England supercity" is likely to be more: * recognisable than the specific neologism Manpool (or the alternative, Liverchester) * naturally used and searched for, given that supercity is an established term * appropriately precise, avoiding WP:OVERPRECISION, as both John Prescott and Will Alsop's visions mentioned in the article were about more than just Liverpool and Manchester, extending to Hull, Leeds etc. Jonathan Deamer (talk) 22:43, 2 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. SilverLocust 💬 16:34, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Bengaluru AirportBangalore Airport – This article has gone through a number of move changes but the most recent discussion (seen above) concluded that it should be named Bengaluru Airport. One editor has unilaterally moved the article to reflect the airport's official name without opening a new discussion which I have undone. However, upon reflection, I feel that the WP:COMMONNAME for this article would be Bangalore Airport. This would reflect the consensus seen at Talk:Bangalore#Requested_move_21_March_2024 that Bangalore is the common name of the city, not Bengaluru. Bangalore is also what major English-speaking international carriers describe the airport as including United [1] and British Airways [2]. Qantas, meanwhile, feels the need to clarify that Bengaluru is Bangalore using quotations further underlining that Bangalore is more common [3]. Additionally, given the consensus for the Bangalore article, having the equivalent name for the airport is supported by WP:CONSISTENT. • (Discuss)Abu Lu'lu'a FiruzAbu Lu'lu'a – Per the above discussions of the page title. "Abu Lu'lu'a" is an unambiguous title for the subject and the WP:COMMONNAME apparent in English language scholarship. The appellation of Firuz after this name is something that only comes from a handful of sources by comparison, and was partly done as a form of compromise (an offering to Iranian readers) in the hope of warding off naming disputes. It was unsuccessful in the latter, while the overarching naming confusion has now been conclusively resolved. Since compromise, while sometimes necessary, is not really a policy or guidleline, it seems like this unnecessary addition (which adds no precision, but does detract from concision and muddies the common name) can be dispensed with. • (Discuss)Diego FerreiraDiego Ferreira (disambiguation) – he is referred to on UFC and Sherdog as Diego Ferreira, not Carlos - https://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Diego-Ferreira-26358 even though that may be his birthname. As for the disambiguation page, there are a few football players with little information on them, so I think the fighter deserves the page. Marty2Hotty (talk) 12:56, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Tamil genocide → Tamil genocide allegation – There is neither academic consensus nor even a mainstream narrative that the persecution of Tamils in Sri Lanka constituted a genocide; especially that the article's creator and main author tries to stretch it as far back as 1948. There are very few reliable sources, if any, barring a handful of PhD theses, that would discuss the legal aspect in the terms of the Genocide Convention. The concept of calling the persecutions "genocide" arose fairly recently, predominantly among the Canadian Tamil émigrés – if we run a Google search for "Tamil genocide" excluding "Canada", we get rather few meaningful results.[7]. Add to it the fact that there has been no case, not even a complaint to the International Court of Justice about a "Tamil genocide". Considering all this, Wikipedia should, at a minimum, apply the same rule as in Palestinian genocide accusation, where highly contentious claims are always qualified as accusation or allegation; especially when they are so poorly sourced as in this article. — kashmīrī TALK 11:24, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Carpathian RutheniaTranscarpathia – Each time I want to get to this article I first get to the Transcarpathia disambiguation page and later think why is this article titled this way. "Transcarpathia" is overwhelmingly the most WP:COMMONNAME for this region. I simply do not see it in use today outside of Wikipedia. Transcarpathia has 16,300 Google Scholar results while Carpathian Ruthenia has 8,530. Transcarpathia is far more popular than Carpathian Ruthenia as shown by Google Ngrams [8]. Britannica has a topic for Transcarpathia [9] and no page for Carpathian Ruthenia. I can hardly find news related to the invasion of Ukraine about the region under the name of Carpathian Ruthenia. Under the name of Transcarpathia we find news from several major media outlets [10] [11] [12] [13] [14] [15]. Super Ψ Dro 10:31, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Dersim rebellionDersim massacre – I opposed the last time this was proposed, but after looking at sources more closely, I am increasingly concerned that the present name is misleading. Although it could be defended on a common-name basis: *The title is misleading: A key point is that the Turkish state planned the ethnic cleansing of Dersim and moved in troops before the "rebellion" occurred that served as a pretext for escalating the violence.[1] Recent sources, especially those published since the last RM, tend to recognize that rebellion is a problematic terminology and several use the word "alleged" or put "rebellion" in quotation marks.[2][3][4] Similar in some ways to the Armenian genocide, the "rebellion" aspect is played up in order to excuse violence that was on a completely separate order of magnitude. Massacre cannot be argued to be a POV term because it is not disputed that a massacre took place. *The title doesn't reflect why the event is notable: the event is notable because of the massacres and ethnic cleansing that took place, not because of very minor anti-state incidents (arson of a bridge and cutting telegraph lines). *The Google Scholar statistics are unreliable because they include Turkish state-sponsored sources that are not reliable for this topic. I oppose a split because the "rebellion" is not independently notable from the massacre. (t · c) buidhe 05:17, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Canal+ → Canal+ (TV channel) – This article is too easily confused with the Groupe Canal+ or related article, and I suspect that a lot of the incoming links should rightly link to the latter. It would entail quite a bit of work, but I think this would be better as a DAB, with all of the various Canal+ subsidiaries listed on it. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 04:25, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)SIM swap scam → ?WP:COMMONNAME. This is generally just referred to as "SIM swap" (or the action of performing it, "SIM swapping"), so having "scam" in the title is not exceptionally necessary and can just be introduced in the lead section. B3251 (talk) 18:17, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)NunezNúñez – This should be an article about the Spanish surname "Núñez" itself, not the anglicization of it. Most of the linked people use the name with diacritics rather than without. Note: The revision history of this and the existing redirect Núñez is a bit odd: apparently Nunez and Núñez both used to be separate articles as far back as February 2006, but in August 2011 Luna777 (talk · contribs) turned the article with diacritics into a redirect to the one without, for some reason never given, rather than the other way around. Said user then ceased editing Wikipedia altogether a month later. It's for this reason that I haven't been WP:BOLD and attempted a move myself, even with user rights, because I'm not sure what could be done about that messy history. • (Discuss)List of largest starsList of largest known stars – This page was recently moved unilaterally, without discussion. Its basis was an 8-year discussion, which is currently obsolete.
The page was moved to "list of largest known stars" on 2021-09-30 by Nussun05 (talk · contribs) with the following reason: "We don't know the exact largest stars in the entire universe, the list only consists of known large stars.", and he's right, we don't know all the stars in the Universe, the current title is more accurate. • (Discuss)Rita SullivanRita Tanner – It's been twelve years now since the character was married and her name changed, and the Google searches now support her common name as Rita Tanner. Google results show "Rita Tanner Coronation Street" as 371,000 results, with Sullivan on 322,000. Narrowing it to news results, Rita Tanner is on 300+ (the number stays at "about 300" for all results above), with Sullivan on 299. When you narrow it to books, Rita Tanner once again brings up far more relevant results as a more recognisable name attached to the series. There is no good reason to keep using the character's old name after all this time. Ooh, Fruity (talk) 21:58, 2 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Bensci54 (talk) 16:51, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Midland Mainline → Midland Mainline (company) – I feel as though that the Midland Mainline company is defunct for a long while, I think that it should redirect to Midland Main Line. • (Discuss)Apple II → Apple II (1977 computer) – "Apple II" is the shortest, most obvious name for this entire line of computers. That hundreds of links to Apple II series are renamed to Apple II clearly demonstrates this, as do hundreds of links to "Apple II" which really should be to the series. Manual upkeep of this goes around in circles and isn't productive. It's better to go with the natural, shortest name. Dgpop (talk) 15:22, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Lumen (tech company) → Lumen metabolism tracker – I was kind of thinking about it during the AFD last month, I don't really think the title is a good dab given Lumen Technologies, a much more established "tech company" and most of the coverage is about the actual device rather than the company anyway. I'm not really sure the name of the device is the best title either, though, especially in that specific form, so I figure I'd put it up for discussion. • (Discuss)Church History (journal)Church History: Studies in Christianity and Culture – Currently, Church History: Studies in Christianity and Culture (the full title of the journal) redirects to Church History (journal). Per WP:NATURALDIS, it can be appropriate to use an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources as a form of natural disambiguation. While the journal is often called by its shortened name, Church History, it is also widely known by its full title, Church History: Studies in Christianity and Culture. Also, although this is an article about a periodical rather than an article about a book, WP:SUBTITLE seems instructive here: When the most commonly used name is ambiguous, the full title and subtitle might be suitable to be used as a form of natural disambiguation (see WP:NATURALDIS). Using the subtitle as a form of natural disambiguation will make the article easier to find and link to. Hydrangeans (she/her | talk | edits) 10:40, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Template:Slavery → Template:Unfree labor – (Or Template:Unfree labour; don't care which, and both should work.) This template's scope has grown to encompass unfree labo[u]r that is not (except by fringe writers) classified as slavery, such as corvée (and it could also be applied sensibly at indentured servitude, impressment, and some others). So, both the name of the template and its heading should change to "Unfree labor" (and have a template parameter to switch it to "labour", or vice versa). An alternative, with regard to the heading, would be to change it to something like "Slavery and other unfree labor" (or "..labour"). Or, use "forced" instead of "unfree"; I don't really care about the exact terminology, so much as the scope being accurate.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  09:39, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Born to Be Alive → Born to Be Alive (album) – The article was originally about the song. At some point, someone added the album below the song information. Later that information was removed here.[24]. In 2019, the song was inappropriately copypasted to a subpage [25]. The links were never fixed and several links pointing to this page are meant to be linked to the song instead. • (Discuss)Who Killed...... The Zutons? → Who Killed the Zutons? – or Who Killed the Zutons (without the question mark) – or Who Killed ... the Zutons? – or Who Killed ... the Zutons (without the question mark). This is the only article title I can find on Wikipedia that includes more than five consecutive dots in its title (and I found only four that have five consecutive dots). That's a rather strange form, and it is not supported consistently in the cited sources. Although the album cover does include six dots, most of the cited sources appear to just use "Who Killed the Zutons?" (or "Who Killed The Zutons?", which Wikipedia would not do), with or without the question mark at the end. Some use an ordinary three-dot ellipsis (with or without spaces around the ellipsis). Also, as pointed out in 2012 by nagualdesign, the album cover and many sources omit the question mark. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:11, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Armenian alphabetArmenian script – This article encompasses more than just the alphabet; it covers the entire script. The alphabet is merely one part of it. I noticed that a move was already requested. Previously, the main argument against this was that the Armenian script is used exclusively for the Armenian language. However, similar articles about native Caucasian scripts are titled Caucasian Albanian script and Georgian scripts, even though they are predominantly used for a single language as well. Moreover, the Armenian script has occasionally been used for other languages, as exemplified by the Armeno-Turkish alphabet and the relevant section in this article. Therefore, to ensure consistency, I propose the move. Aldij (talk) 13:54, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Gulf & Atlantic Railways → Pinsly Railroad Company (2024) – Although sources explicitly saying such are lacking, the original Pinsly Railroad Company was defunct after selling its last shortline to Gulf & Atlantic Railways in 2023. • (Discuss)And Here She Is ... Ann-Margret → And Here She Is – I don't see the ellipsis or her name as part of the album's title in most cited sources. Some use a dash instead of ellipsis and some just omit her name from the title. It's somewhat unclear whether the name is intended to be part of the title or is separate as an identification of the artist. On the album cover, her name is in a different font and color, and there is no punctuation. Omitting her name from the title is the WP:CONCISE approach, and the shortened title is a red link, so it does not appear to be ambiguous. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:35, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Allan Chappelow → Murder of Allan Chappelow – I believe WP:1E applies here. I see no indication that Chappelow's life and work was particularly noteworthy before he was murdered, particularly since all the sources about the details of his life are ones relating to the murder case. Furthermore, the majority of the article is about the trial and conviction of Wang Yam for allegedly murdering Chappelow and the censoring of media reporting of the trial on national security grounds. Therefore it is clear that this page is focused more on the murder than on Chappelow himself, as that is the only part that is especially noteworthy. Tulzscha (talk) 17:12, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)September 2022 Armenia–Azerbaijan clashes → 2022 аttack of Azerbaijan on Armenia – I have not seen a single reliable source saying that Armenia attacked Azerbaijan. But multiple reliable sources say the opposite. Various sources describe the events as an “invasion”, “offensive”, “attack”, or “assault.” There is consensus that Azerbaijan was the one who initiated the hostilities. Some talk about “Azerbaijan’s Invasion of Armenia”, “Azerbaijan’s Offensive on Armenia”, “Azerbaijan’s Attack on Armenia”, but they all agree on one thing: Azerbaijan was the initiator of the clash, and it was Azerbaijan who attacked. Therefore, the title “Attack of Azerbaijan on Armenia” perfectly reflects the vast majority of reliable sources and is the least ambiguous. I will provide the overwhelming evidence below: * Human Rights Watch:  :The killings took place during fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces that broke out in mid-September, when Azerbaijan made incursions into Armenia...” * Genocide Watch:  :“Azerbaijani military attacks on Armenian territory show Azerbaijani disregard for Armenian sovereignty.” * Freedom House:  :“Freedom House Condemns Azerbaijani Attacks on Armenia”  :“The Azerbaijani armed forces must immediately cease their deadly attacks on Armenian territory” * Axel Gehring, Ph.D., political scientist and expert in the field of foreign and security policy and researcher at the Institute for Critical Social Analysis of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Berlin:  :“On September 13, regular Azerbaijani troops launched a large-scale attack on Armenian territory. This attack took tensions between the countries to a new level.” * Laurence Broers is a specialist in conflicts in the Transcaucasus, founder of the scientific journal Caucasus Survey:  :"Azerbaijan's recent attack seeks to enforce terms in negotiations with Armenia" “ The recent large-scale cross-border attacks inside Armenia by Azerbaijan...” * Maximilian Hess, Research Fellow for Central Asia at the Foreign Policy Institute, in Foreign Policy magazine:  :“Azerbaijani forces who marched into Armenia continue to occupy part of its territory, in particular heights around the town of Jermuk.” * David L. Phillips, conflict analyst in The National Interest:  :“The United States criticized Azerbaijan's recent attacks on Armenia proper” * European Parliament Resolution:  :“Strongly condemns the latest military aggression by Azerbaijan on September 12, 2022 on the sovereign territory of Armenia”  :“calls on the Azerbaijani authorities, therefore, to immediately withdraw from all parts of the territory of Armenia “ * Wojciech Gorecki, senior researcher at the Department of Turkey, Caucasus and Central Asia:  :“in September 2022 Azerbaijan attacked targets located on Armenian territory.” * The Guardian:  : “This week, with attention focused across the Black Sea in Ukraine, fighting on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia killed about 100 troops after Azerbaijan shelled a number of towns in Armenia, with both sides accusing each other of “provocations”.” * Der Spiegel:  : “Peace negotiations mediated by the European Union have been at an impasse since Baku also attacked territory in the Republic of Armenia in September 2022.” * TIME:  : “...democratic nation that was recently invaded by its authoritarian neighbor”  : “...but also Armenia, which has been suffering from Azerbaijan's invasion for almost three weeks now.” * BBC:  : “I don’t think anyone doubts that Azerbaijan started this operation on the territory of Armenia. Even Azerbaijani commentators admit this. Armenia is currently weak, has little interest in disrupting the status quo.” * Eurasianet  :"Azerbaijan launches large-scale attacks on Armenia"  :“Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack on targets in Armenia, an unprecedented expansion of the long-running conflict into Armenian territory.” * Michael Rubin, senior researcher at AIP:  :“Last week, Azerbaijan attacked Armenia proper. (Last week Azerbaijan attacked Armenia directly)” * Paul Stronski is a senior fellow in the Carnegie Russia and Eurasia Programs, specializing in Russia and the South Caucasus:  : “..the fact that Russia is preoccupied, certainly led to what looks like an Azerbaijani offensive at this time”  : “And what we even saw just in the last few days is actually attacks inside and shelling inside cities inside Armenia, not just along the border." * Kapil Komireddy, political columnist for The Telegraph:  : “But so little about Azerbaijan's attack, which goes beyond the disputed territory of Karabakh and targets Armenia proper.” *Seth Franzman, Middle East analyst for The Jerusalem Post , contributor to Defense News, The National Interest and Digest of Middle East Studies:  :“Attacks on Armenia represent dangerous escalation” *Carnegie Europe:  :“Nearly 300 soldiers died in a large-scale Azerbaijani incursion into the territory of Armenia on September 13-14.” Vanezi (talk) 21:23, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Cumnock (original) railway stationOld Cumnock railway station – I've been tidying up disambiguation for former railway stations in Scotland per WP:UKSTATIONDAB and I'm not 100% sure what the best solution is for these two stations. The first was a Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway station opened as Old Cumnock in 1850, renamed to Cumnock in 1955 and closed in 1965. The second was a Glasgow and South Western Railway station that was only ever known as Cumnock, opened in 1872 and closed in 1951. I feel the natural disambiguation (using Old Cumnock and Cumnock) works best as there was only a brief period where the first station was known as Cumnock and they had different names when they were both in operation. The other options for disambiguation don't really work either as they are both in the same town and they were both run by the same company as the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway became the Glasgow and South Western Railway shortly after the first station opened. The current naming pattern doesn't work with the policy so they will have to move, I don't know what the disambiguation for the second station should be though as their is also a Cumnock railway station in Australia and Cumnock railway station needs to be a dab page. • (Discuss)I Am... (Beyoncé tour)I Am... World Tour – This request is to restore the former name of the page. The previous move was closed under a quintaessential example of why supervoting is inappropriate and why Wikipedia is built upon consensus and not a polling democracy. The argument provided by the closer, @BilledMammal:, reads as follows: Consensus to move per WP:PRECISION; the current title is ambiguous. Ambiguity was never a reason provided for the move by itself; the argument was "There are multiple albums by multiple artists called I Am which could be easily confused as being the subject of this tour", which is not a valid argument to move a page. The tour is not a subsection of an album to argue such thing. Furthermore, being ambiguous is not a reason to move pages mainly because the titling criteria is not a set of imposed rules. The closing didn't address the arguments provided by either side and it never explained where the consensus arised. Additionally, it was never demonstrated that the official name is the WP:COMMONAME, why we should follow an WP:OFFICIALNAME, why WP:SMALLDETAILS is not applicable, why WP:NATURAL is not applicable, and since the page was moved and the redirects corrected, exactly where is the ambiguity in the title, since the Lewis tour has not improved its views caused by the alleged ambiguity. • (Discuss)Carolina–Duke rivalryDuke–North Carolina rivalry – The reasoning to keep the page at "Carolina-Duke" over 11 years ago was very flawed. By that logic, the Texas A&M–Texas Tech rivalry article for example, should be moved to "A&M–Tech rivalry" since those two schools are referred to that by people in their respective state. I guess we can also use the shortended "Carolina" for all of UNC's rivalry articles too or even the Palmetto State rivalry between Carolina–Clemson. I would go as far to say that "UNC" is a more commonly-used nickname than just "Carolina" (see Google Trends comparison). Wikipedia article titles are meant to be formal and informative, not just for pageviews. It is the University of NORTH Carolina, not the University of Carolina. It would not only be consistent with other college rivalry articles, but also with the standalone articles about the non-basketball rivalries between Duke and North Carolina per WP:TITLECON. • (Discuss)Prince Ernst August of Hanover (born 1983)Ernst August von Hannover (born 1983) – In Germany titles of royals and nobles were abolished in 1919 and are not recognised today by Germany which is a republic. The convention in WP:NCROY states: "Do not use hypothetical, dissolved or defunct titles, including pretenders (real or hypothetical), unless this is what the majority of reliable sources use." Therefore I do not believe Prince should be used in the title Regarding the surname - "of Hanover" is a translation of his surname "von Hannover". Names and surnames should not be translated. We don't do it for other German surnames and I don't see why we should do it here. D1551D3N7 (talk) 17:08, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Nicaragua Canal → ? – As the opening sentence of this article puts it, "there is a long history of attempts to build a canal across Nicaragua to connect the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean", from as early as the 1500s to the most recent and hence most notable one in the 2010s. Currently, the general article is at "History of" and the specific one about the 2010s project at "Nicaragua Canal". Each has a section summarizing the other, Nicaragua Canal § History and History of the Nicaragua Canal § HKND project (2010–present), with {{main}} hatnote crosslinks. This likely made sense when said project was active and there was reason to expect it to result in an actual canal, which would obviously have been vastly more notable than any mere plan to build one. But by the end of that decade, the project had been essentially abandoned, and I don't think it makes sense any longer. "Nicaragua Canal" has about 200 incoming article links ([41]), of which I surveyed the first 20. The result is pretty much an even split between links that should indeed go to the 2010s project, and links that should go to the general page, or in some cases ideally one of its sections about earlier specific projects. But it's more confusing to follow a link to an article that's about the wrong specific thing than to an article that's too general, especially when that specific article has an unspecific title. So a switch would clarify the situation, IMO. The most obvious choice for a new title for the specific article is "Nicaraguan Canal and Development Project", per its opening sentence - though something that includes a date, as the "HKND project (2010–present)" section title does, might be more informative, so I left that open. - 2A02:560:58C3:0:B0B9:6993:EC37:F849 (talk) 15:34, 10 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Natg 19 (talk) 23:29, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)If a tree falls in a forestIf a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? – or If a tree falls ...? It is not clear why the question that is the subject of this article is truncated after the first seven words, leaving the rest unstated and the question mark absent. No ellipsis is provided to show that something is missing. The topic is a question, and that can be seen from the opening sentence, but the article title doesn't show that. The Bruce Cockburn song title truncates it after only four words. If we think the question is just too long, let's stop at four like he did, but add the ellipsis and the question mark. — BarrelProof (talk) 02:56, 7 April 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Natg 19 (talk) 23:11, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Discuss)Woo Bum-kon → Woo Bum-kon incident – Per WP:BIO1E. Woo is notable for murdering a lot of people in one event, and not much else. Someone had previously tried to change this article to Uiryeong massacre, however this title is original research: all of the later Korean sources call it some variation of "Woo Bom-kon incident", "Woo Bom-kon shooting incident", etc, see (우범곤 사건, lit Woo Bum-kon incident). It is the clear common name, and we can't just make up our own titles. I believe this means it will be delisted as a vital article though, since it no longer fits the category it is listed in. Also, this article still has the problem of being overwhelmingly tilted towards 80s English news coverage instead of the boatload of later, more accurate, Korean language sourcing, but as I do not speak Korean this is a difficult issue to fix. • (Discuss)Maratha EmpireMaratha Confederacy – The Maratha state had been a confederation of some sort for much of its existence from at least 1721 when the Baroda State was founded and 1732 when Indore and Gwalior States were founded till 1818. The Maratha state during the Deccan wars under Shivaji and his descendents was not in the slightest an "empire", rather a quasi-state or rebel kingdom from 1674 till 1707. Besides in most non-biased scholarly sources the Maratha realm has been referred to as the "Maratha Confederacy" or "Maratha States". (Look at the infobox map itself. It says "Maratha States".) • (Discuss)Karma (2024 song)Karma's a Bitch – This page keeps getting moved. The previous rationale was "The song was originally called that in the Miley Cyrus demo, and the Brit Smith demo. It also takes away the disambiguating, so it more succinct." I’m unsure, however. The article is about the song as an entity, but that 'entity' hasn’t got a name, but it’s clear that there are two versions of the same song, and that they are not covers of each other. I don’t think this has ever happened before. Plus the proposed title is already a redirect to the page, so seems like the most logical title. This is a case of 'what came first, the chicken or the egg?' Another suggestion is Karma and Karma's a Bitch. 109.235.247.80 (talk) 01:57, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • (Discuss)Orlando (disambiguation)Orlando – I realise that this was discussed before in 2016, but consensus may have changed. A recent discussion at Talk:Orlando, Florida showed no consensus that this is the primary topic. I would put forward two reasons. Firstly, the sheer number of entries on this page means that we should be cautious about deciding that there is a primary topic. Secondly, some people argued that the Florida city is widely known outside the USA because it attracts a large number of tourists as the location of Disney World. However, speaking as a European who has never visited the USA, the extent to which US cities are widely known elsewhere is not necessarily a function of the number of tourists, it's not like e.g. Chicago or Los Angeles. However, what had been raised in that discussion is which proposition to be used in the article title.  : The previous discussion was moving "Strikes" to "strikes", rather than to "strike", I believe? I mention this because there may be further strikes by Iran on Israel later in the year, and it's not clear whether this article would include those, or if they would get their own articles. • (Discuss)Polish–Muscovite Wars (1605–1618)Polish–Russian War (1605–1618) – The term "Muscovy" is not quite correct in the context of historical events. After the establishment of a unified centralized authority, the country called itself the Tsardom of Russia, not Muscovy. Such a name was relevant only during the times when Moscow existed independently, but the formation of the Tsardom of Russia happened long before the war. This can also confuse the reader since the article refers to Tsardom of Russia, which uses a different designation. Additionally, it should be clarified that this term was often used by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the conflict between it and the Tsardom of Russia for propaganda purposes, as the term clearly implies feudal fragmentation of the state. Nowadays, the term is also used as a derogatory term towards Russia - https://www.svoboda.org/a/ukraina-moskoviya-i-drugie-yaroslav-shimov-o-borjbe-za-vostok-evropy/32330846.html, https://www.pravda.com.ua/rus/news/2022/11/29/7378557/. • (Discuss)Francis, Duke of GuiseFrançois, Duke of Guise – Requesting move of these articles per WP:COMMONNAME. I will begin my argument with ngrams, even though I find them largely overcrowded by noise. Please see [44] [45] [46] [47] Moving beyond ngrams, my argument revolves around the English literature that focuses on the family, the era of the Italian Wars, and the era French Wars of Religion, both areas of which they played a central role in and are therefore not an incidental mention in. Stuart Carroll (2011) Martyr's and Murderers: The Guise Family and the Making of Europe, is the most recent English language biography of the family - it refers to the second duke of Guise as François, his son the third duke as Henri and the fifth duke of Guise as Henri II (also the seventh duke of Guise as François-Joseph though that Wikipedia article is already at François-Joseph, so does not require changing.) The other recent English book which discusses them in the title is Mark Konnert's (2006) Local Politics in the French Wars of Religion: The Towns of Champagne, the duc de Guise and the Catholic League (1560-1595) - it refers to François, and Henri. I will now briefly survey English academics who have written on this area in the last couple of decades, and their various positions on the names. Gould (2006) = François; Roelker (1968) = François, Henri; Knecht (2014) = François, Henri; Diefendorf (1991) = François, Henri; Roberts (2013) = François, Henri; Sutherland (1962) = François, Henri; Tullchin (2012) = François, Henri; Roelker (1996) = François, Henri; Baumgartner (1986) = Henri; Harding (1978) = François, Henri; Heller (2003) = Henri; Potter (1997) = François, Henri; Carroll (2005) = François, Henri; Bernstein (2004) = Henri; Konnert (1997) = François, Henri; Benedict (2003) = François, Henri; Salmon (1979) = François, Henri; Shaw (2019) [only English language survey of the Italian Wars] = François; Pitts (2012) = François, Henri; Neuschel (1989) = François; Kingdon (1967) = François, Henri; Greengrass (1988) = François; Conner (2000) = François, Spangler (2016) = Henri Tingle (2006) is a little unusual, refers to François, and Henry; likewise Shimizu (1970) refers to Francis, and Henri Holt (2002) = Francis, Henry, he is the only French Wars of Religion era academic I am aware of who throughout all his works consistently calls them this way. • (Discuss)Joint Light Tactical Vehicle → Joint Light Tactical Vehicle competition – There are basically two extremely similar articles about the JLTV. Actually three. Joint Light Tactical Vehicle resembles an article about the development program, while Oshkosh L-ATV is about the JLTV selected for production. There is enough content for two articles, but I would guess that most people searching for "JLTV" would expect to find an article about the production vehicle than the competition that produced it. Background: "L-ATV" was the marketing name for the truck originally designed by Oshkosh for the JLTV program, which Oshkosh won in 2015. Presumably Oshkosh did not wish to tie the vehicle's success to the JLTV program, and so branded it as Each branch of the U.S. military calls it the "JLTV". Oshkosh usually refers to the L-ATV as the JLTV, although very occasionally Oshkosh will market a variant of the JLTV as an L-ATV on their own initiative. Here is a press release where Oshkosh announces the sale of "JLTVs", not "L-ATVs", to European countries. AM General will take over production of the JLTV from Oshkosh at the end of the year. • (Discuss)Polish–Ukrainian ethnic conflict → Polish–Ukrainian relations (1939–1947) – The article's author was unable to demonstrate the source basis for the existence of a Polish-Ukrainian ethnic conflict in 1942-47; the very fact that he places the Polish anti-communist and pro-independence Freedom and Independence Association on the Ukrainian side demonstrates his poor grasp of the subject, but also, and above all, the inability to narrate the entire history solely through the optics of "ethnic conflict." For indeed, this is a misleading take. First, because it is difficult to define the actors. The Polish side is not homogeneous: there are many organizations, and the three main currents (the Home Army, the Nationalists and the Communists) had different attitudes toward the Ukrainian cause and did not pursue a uniform policy. Likewise, on the Ukrainian side, there is the OUN-M, OUN-B (and UPA), UCK collaborators, Bulbovets, Ukrainian Soviet partisans, Ukrainian SSR authorities, etc. Second, despite generally hostile relations, there were also periods of peace, attempts at agreement, and actual alliances. There is an entire book by Grzegorz Motyka and Rafał Wnuk on this subject: "Pany and rezuny. Cooperation of the AK-WiN and the UPA 1945-1947". Many Ukrainians served in the Polish army in 1939 and in the Polish armed forces in the west. Pavlo Shandruk cooperated with the Polish government in exile etc. These are things largely not currently described on Wikipedia. In the current situation, I see two choices: # due to the fact that the article is a translation from the Polish Wiki of the article under the title " Polish-Ukrainian partisan fighting", we can move it under this title and change the scope to describe the skirmishes between the two partisan movement. # or, as I suggest, move it under the title I proposed and describe the whole of Polish-Ukrainian relations during the war. I believe that such an article would be valuable and would be a " container" tying together all the topics currently described in isolation (the massacres of Poles in Volhynia, the Hrubieszów revolution, the WiN-UPA alliance, etc.). It lacks precision, as it encompasses related but dissimilar topics, often being misinterpreted by users to mean that all genital modifications listed on the page are mutilations. 2.) It fails the criteria of concision. As all genital mutilations are forms of genital modifications, genital modification would suffice. (e.g. It is like if a page was termed "List of dogs and bulldogs" instead of "List of dogs") 3.) It fails the criteria of neutrality, as it implies to readers (problematically) that gender-affirming surgery, labiaplasty, circumcision, and pearling are mutilation. It also associates "modification" with exclusively negative changes. To make it meet WP: NPOV, you'd have to add "enhancement" or another positive term, a proposal that would further fail the criteria of concision. 4.)
