Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. Kaiping dialect moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Kaiping dialect, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Please add citations

When editing, especially about potentially controversial subjects (Killing of Ma'Khia Bryant), please include citations to reliable sources to show that your content is verifiable. Uncited content may be removed, especially if the content is relevant to the biographies of living people policy. This article is under BLP as it pertains to a recently deceased person and the officer involved. Thanks, Enwebb (talk) 19:28, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Killing of Christian Obumseli requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, society, or group that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Alumni

I find this close questionable because it does not address actual policy-based arguments for or against. For example, a higher usage for Alumni than that of Alumnus is irrelevant. We do not generally compare plural and singular in this way. Likewise, the word "alumni" has also been used with "Alumni of women's universities and colleges" is irrelevant because it is possible that it is the category that should be renamed, not this article. Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Your quotation of the common name policy seems to go against the rationale of the nomiantion. So what gives? Srnec (talk) 00:01, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Srnec. I just took a look of the discussion you mentioned a while ago. The common name policy was argued during the discussion. It's why I stated it in the closing discussion. I determine consensus based on policy, as well as exceptions provided in some policies, which were argued over the discussion. A majority also agrees with the move. Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 15:02, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you closed this. It has been only open for a week and there has not been a consensus formed, having only attracted four comments. It should have been relisted and given more time. MB 22:40, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, MB. The discussion aforementioned has been open for more than a week. I see that it was opened on 3 October 2022. I closed the discussion on 18 October 2022. I have also noted that the discussion has been relisted once by Shibbolethink. And according to WP:Requested moves#Relisting a requested move, "In general, discussions should not be relisted more than once before properly closing". As such, I closed the discussion as "No consensus" and did not relist. Feel free to start a new requested move. Cheers, Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 23:34, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Process wonkery (me that is)

Hi - just a good faith heads up. With your withdrawal and closure here Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sabuhi Mammadov would you mind reverting and closing as "speedy keep" per WP:SKCRIT #1(3)? Part of the reason for changing the close is that there will be a record of this as a keep which potentially has a different meaning than withdrawn; keep establishes precedent, I would argue withdrawn does not. Killing of Tyre Nichols

The move request was not malformed. The article was originally named Death of Tyre Nichols and the RM was to have it moved to Killing of Tyre Nichols. What happened was a user erroneously closed the discussion prematurely saying there was a consensus to move the article to Killing of- and the article's title was subsequently changes to conform with the close. After discussion on closers talk page, they undid their close but the article was never returned to the status quo of Death of-. I think you need to undue your action at Talk:Killing of Tyre Nichols and just let someone else (or yourself) close the move discussion and determine the consensus of the discussion. Thanks, Iamreallygoodatcheckerst@lk 16:39, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Iamreallygoodatcheckers. I wasn't able to revert it due to conflicting edits. Thank you for reverting my edit. Also, please prepare to revert the RMCD bot's actions in the next few minutes. Rollback granted

Hi Wikiexplorationandhelping. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2023-05-26. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:12, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Rollback granted

Hi Wikiexplorationandhelping. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account.

DanCherek (talk) 04:28, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed your rollback uses from the trial period and this one is the only one I wouldn't have done. It would have been more ideal for that IP editor to explain their changes, but overall they were removing an unsourced section containing the kind of statement that really should either be sourced or removed. (It has since been removed by another editor with a more adequate edit summary.) That being said, everything else looked good to me, so this is just a friendly heads up. DanCherek (talk) 04:30, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate the heads up. I will take a look at this and try to avoid making these mistakes. Have a nice day :) Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 06:44, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mackenzie Shirilla

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mackenzie Shirilla requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Battle of Kreminna (disambiguation)

Notice

The article Battle of Kreminna (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:ONEOTHER: "If there are only two topics to which a given title might refer, and one is the primary topic, then a disambiguation page is not needed—it is sufficient to use a hatnote on the primary topic article, pointing to the other article." Battle of Kreminna is the primary topic, and the only other possible entry is a "speculated future battle".

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joseph Gitler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please remove this comment: Special:Diff/1182724485. The article is in the domain of WP:BLP, and as such, we need to improve it in every way we can, especially when it comes to claims about someone recently deceased being or not being kidnapped, being or not being dead etc. The problem with the title is serious. This is not something that can be paused for supposed procedural reasons, but there are no such reasons in the first place. It is good when articles are improved during an AfD. The comment could distract editors and discourage them from participating. Sincerely —Alalch E. 01:31, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Maddy Spidell

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Maddy Spidell requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

Hello - The above discussion was closed with the result as moved. However, Albanian Embassy in Washington, D.C. has not yet been moved. Is this in a que for a bot to perform? Thanks! Gjs238 (talk) 01:11, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like there's no point in the move, as someone merged it into a redirect towards Albania-United States relations? I'm not sure at this point. Should it be converted to an RFD? Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 01:28, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
