Beijing Forestry University August 26

Hi Moriwen, hope you are doing well. I removed the ranking section of the Beijing Forestry University as most other similar schools don't have this section and they are really not doing well in the world ranking :-) I think it is better if we do not include this section. Thank you so much for your understanding! Please feel free to delete this message. Best wishes! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:1970:46CD:2900:3D4F:97AE:6897:3EF (talk) 20:44, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 11

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Church of San Francisco, Bogotá, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Presbytery. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. I made two consecutive edits to a page. They disagree with the second one. They keep rolling back both of them. If you can explain to them how to only roll back the second edit, I would be thrilled. Moriwen (talk) 17:31, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ABP

I added the following today to the talk page of the "Association of Business Psychologists" article:

This article, which was initiated by me, is currently the subject of a deletion proposal [by Moriwen], of which I received notice today. I believe that the deletion proposal is misconceived, and that the organisation is in fact more significant than its proposer suggests – an example of evidence of this would be the fact that over a dozen university degree courses in the United Kingdom are accredited by the ABP. However, I currently no longer have a close familiarity with the organisation, so I am consulting those who do to establish the best way forward. I should be grateful if no further action were taken on the deletion proposal until that consultation is complete. Deipnosophista (talk) 11:19, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

I am on the Board and will be updating the Wiki page over the coming week or two with lots more information, including citations. Please could you remove the plans to delete it? Pages needing translation

Thanks for looking out for Pages needing translation, but did you know that these are strictly for pages which have a corresponding article on another language Wikipedia? Such pages are connected through Wikidata, and you can see evidence of that in the languages section in the left sidebar. The Charles Delacommune article has no equivalent in French Wikipedia, so doesn't need listing at WP:PNT. The article Chup Tazia doesn't need translation from Arabic, because there is no Arabic version of it. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 09:57, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies! Thank you for explaining. — Moriwen (talk) 18:32, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. By all means add listings to WP:PNT when you find an English article that has been translated from a foreign-language Wikipedia, and needs attention; that always helps. Happy editing! Mathglot (talk) 06:21, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

Hi Moriwen, When you create a redirect, please check that the term actually exists on the targeted page. Redirecting to a synonym is a legitimate use for redirects, but not all readers will recognise the specific term for which the redirect is a synonym if it is not mentioned on the target page. If it is not mentioned, please add it in a logical place, ideally with a suitable reference. If you normally do this but sometimes forget or have not got around to it yet, no problem. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 08:11, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It also makes a redirect more useful if you target a section if that is where the redirected term is discussed, and if you would add any relevant tags, such as {{R to section}} or {{R to alternative scientific name}}, that helps a lot with curatorial work, and the redirect is more likely to be tagged as patrolled. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 08:28, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also check that the target article actually provides the reader with useful information about the redirected term. The mere fact that it is used in the target is no guarantee that the redirect will be helpful to the reader. In articles where a term is used without explanation of its meaning, the term would more appropriately be wikilinked, which should not link back to the same page. In some cases it may be more useful to redirect to a technical glossary, and add the term with a suitable definition. Bear in mind that Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Redirects that are not useful are likely to be deleted. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 09:44, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand why you think it is clearer to delete the rationale explained by the IOC, and just leave the bear fact that Fencer was given an automatic qualification. As you perhaps know, an automatic qualification is never given. This would seem to call for explanatory, phraseology, along the lines of what you choose to delete. I did leave a clear explanation of the edit removing the phrase "against conventional wisdom" which is a baseless unsupported assertion which has no place on wikipedia. Whose says it was against convention wisdom? Where is any citation? Who defines what is accepted "conventional wisdom"? What is the criteria? Wikipedia is not meant to be an opinion piece. I cannot see why my explanation was inadequate and why you would revert that change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.53.33.99 (talk) 19:23, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The section you deleted included several citations supporting it. — Moriwen (talk) 19:24, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"No ethnographic studies have shown that any present or past society has used barter without any other medium of exchange or measurement, and anthropologists have found no evidence that money emerged from barter."

That is a completely unsupported assertion. It is a politicised opinion ("the barter myth") stating a negative as a fact. Can't prove a negative, that is a logical fallacy. Statements like that shouldn't be in wiki articles — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.53.33.99 (talk) 19:28, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alt-tech

Hi, you reverted my change to the description of alt-tech as "Internet platforms that cater to extremists" to describe them simply as alternatives to mainstream offerings. You did this because Wikipedia is supposed to maintain a neutral point of view. To quote the linked article, "Alt-tech are social media platforms and Internet service providers that have become popular among the alt-right, far-right, and others who espouse extremism or fringe theories, often because they employ less stringent content moderation than mainstream platforms." I think it is sufficiently neutral to describe alt-tech as I have done. These platforms specifically exist to create a space for extremists where they can, for example, freely discuss acts of terrorism without fear of censorship. Please read the alt-tech article for more information, and see the referenced journal article describing how terrorists used Telegram to coordinate the January 6th attack. Thanks, and have a great day! 68.50.184.108 (talk) 16:57, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of Founding Father - S. Korea.

Hi. I tried to find out the source of the previous document, which was Syngman rhee is the founding father of S. Korea, but officially the government of S. Korea nor National Assembly of Korea have never officialized the founding father. The constiution of Korea stipulates that the 6th republic upholds the democratic idea of April 19th revolution in 1960, in which people resisted against the government of Syngman Rhee and finally made him resigned. Some rightist media argues that he was the founding father of S.Korea, but also numerous newspapers are against it, which shows that there is no official founding father of S.Korea. That's why I edited the documemt and wrote Dangun, the legendary father of Korean race as the founding father of S. Korea. And S.Korea have national day on which Koreans celebrate his legendary birthday and his founding of Ancient Korea. Here are the resources. https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Constitution_of_the_Republic_of_Korea_(1987) - The constitution of 6th republic of Korea https://m.hankookilbo.com/News/Read/A2023033109560002703 - News article from HanKookIlbo. It desctibes the controversy on officializing founding father of Korea, which shows there is no founding father in S.Korea yet. https://www.seoul.co.kr/news/newsView.php?id=20190514027002 - Column from Seoul Shinmun, which opposes the idea of saying Syngman Rhee as the founding father. 221.161.0.129 (talk) 17:49, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

a comment

Hi, you asked me to say something on your talk page if I thought there was something wrong, so I just came in this to apologise for the editing stuff that has just been happening, my younger brother has just been using my device and somehow he decided it would be a good idea to change some text on different pages with his friend. I am so so sorry for any trouble he has caused, and I will make sure he does not edit Wikipedia again in unsuitable ways. Thank you, and I would appreciate it if it my warnings were removed, as he did not mean to cause any harm and I went back and tried to unedit what he had done afterwards, and I sometimes do edit in here and Iwould not like to lose the ability to edit on Wikipedia because of him messing around. Once again, I am so sorry if he cause too much trouble and I would really be thankful if you could delete those warnings in any way. Thankyou. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.144.218.22 (talk) 18:32, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clara Khoury ethnicity

Hi, I added the descriptor Palestinian-Israeli to Clara Khoury's article, and you let me know I need to source that. There are sources that her father is Palestinian on his Wikipedia page, so I just thought the same way there isn't a source on the fact that she is Israeli, it only makes sense. You can assume she is Israeli from her birthplace, and that she is Palestinian from her father. 24.150.94.176 (talk) 18:21, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your work, but I'd like to point out that there are inaccuracies on the page regarding the very 1st SUFC ladies team. Unfortunately, the players who were part of that initial team are not acknowledged, which I believe is unjust. I was personally a member of that team, and while I understand that evidence from that time is limited due to the absence of the internet, I do have images that were previously featured on the SUFC page, but have since been removed. Collaborating with fellow players, we're striving to ensure that our contribution to the team's history is recognized, along with the efforts of our coaches, Gary Hindley and Mel Woodall. It's essential that the write-up accurately reflects the facts. I apologize if this comes across as critical, but the historical accuracy is crucial, as the current version undermines our accomplishments. I possess a team photograph that was included in a program, as well as some old individual photos. We're dedicated to being an integral part of the history of ladies' football at SUFC." we combined as ladies numbers where low with sheffield hallam united. We are the 1st team for SUFC and yet nothing is mentioned other than folded! — Preceding unsigned comment added by C33fit14 (talk • contribs) 13:12, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That makes a lot of sense as a frustration! If the photographs are ones you took yourself, you might consider scanning them and uploading them to Wikimedia Commons; they could be a valuable addition to the article. — Moriwen (talk) 13:26, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lady Glenorchy

You have reverted a number of my edits which I can assure you were made in good faith and after a great deal of time in researching the existing entry and what was required to correct and improve it. That entry was full of misunderstandings and errors. Far from merely removing content, I have corrected it and added new content, links and sources. Here are my edit summaries.

See History - original text was for 1770 chapel. Confused with Lady Glenorchy's Chapel started in 1772 and opened in 1774.

There was only one chapel or church built. Building started in 1772, completed 1774, hence confusion. (See History because at some time an editor has confused reference to an 1870 chapel with an 1872 chapel which, in turn, made the editor think that, as well as the 1872 chapel, there was an 1874 chapel. I corrected all that!}

The name Horatius does not appear in history of Lady Glenorchy. Source is useless. ("Horatius" does not appear in the original source, which is so general it is useless, nor in the History of Lady Glenorchy.)

Location of Edinburgh home (I added where her home was, also link)

Lady Glenorchy for consistency (Text suddenly started calling her "Campbell" so.....)

Low Calton was the 1772/4 church (Editor confused the old church at Low Calton with new church at Greenside)

Source for mother (Citation wanted so citation provided)

Typo (Corrected typo)

Further explanation (Extra information given in article)

New information (Added new informtion - see text if you want to know what it is)

Removed advert for Amazon (Online link for book was directly to Amazon sales)

In my view these edit summaries are entirely adequate being as good as most of the edit summaries I see in Wikipedia - why am I having to give extra and unnecessary explanation? Consideration of these summaries together with proper consideration of what was actually written in comparison with the text before my edits will show that your reversion was precipitate and improper. After all my effort in correcting and improving the article, at a stroke and, as far as I can see, with proper consideration, you have destroyed it. I seriously wonder if it is worthwhile contributing to Wikipedia when this can happen. I shall be obliged if you will now revert back.82.28.236.130 (talk) 15:22, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So, what is important here? The edit summaries or the edits?82.28.236.130 (talk) 16:38, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Compared to that noted above, the edit summary for your revert really is inadequate. Also, you have failed to follow any of the guidance in this Wikipedia guide which I note here for your information. "Consider carefully before reverting, as it rejects the contributions of another editor, and all others' after the edit in question. Consider what you object to, and what the editor was attempting. Can you improve the edit, bringing progress, rather than reverting it? Can you revert only part of the edit, or do you need to revert the whole thing? (The latter option is better executed through an undo action.) In the edit summary or on the talk page, succinctly explain why the change you are reverting was a bad idea or why reverting it is a better idea. In cases of blatant vandalism, uncontroversially disruptive changes or unexplained removals, the amount of explanation needed is minimal. But in the event of a content dispute, a convincing, politely-worded explanation gains much importance and avoids unnecessary disputes." 82.28.236.130 (talk) 13:28, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting 'Sussymoguses' to Chaenactis

Hi, I see that you redirected Sussymoguses to Chaenactis. Unfortunately, the Chaenactis page was vandalized at the time, and 'Sussymoguses' is not a synonym for Chaenactis. I've gone ahead and tagged the redirect for speedy deletion. Sunmist (talk) 17:46, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The source supports the infobox contents. Please seek consensus on the talk page before changing this. — Moriwen (talk) 23:00, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As the edit summary indicates, I did not add anything. I "removed OR, vandalism, unsourced claims". Yours, 65.88.88.54 (talk) 20:12, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to have added the unsourced claim "He also had a few children out of wedlock lock which are now being found through DNA." — Moriwen (talk) 20:15, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bullying in SJI Junior

Hello Moriwen, this is to let you know that there are really bullying incidents in SJI Junior. The school does not solve these issues and instead, they continue to escalate them even further. 2401:7400:6017:B6FA:9D10:7186:8ECB:FEA7 (talk) 04:16, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Eves - LePage controversy

I removed the description because it was full of errors and omissions. Just a few. No payment to Good Will Hinckley was ever denied or rejected. They received the amount in full. What was omitted, among many other things, was that Eves had refused to move closer to the school than the 2-1/2 hour drive distance to his home. He refused to resign as speaker, or as a legislator. he also refused to promise not to run for governor. Despite having no time to perform his duties, and no interest in being present at the school, the GWH board hired him as their president. This action by the board made it clear that the governing body of the school was hopelessly ineffective and Governor LePage, who had personally intervened two years earlier to stop the school from closing, said that he no longer had faith in the school and would no longer support it. More insight was revealed in testimony when it was revealed that GWH board member Bill Brown was the driving force behind the eves hiring. However, Brown should have recused himself from the process rather than lead it, because he was a paid political appointee of Speaker Eves. It became clear during the investigation that the board chose Eves so that he could, as speaker, restore their $1 million funding in the state budget. For this, they were willing to overlook his limitations in time, geography , and interest in the mission of the school. Desjardin's only roll was to temporarily hold a payment request because the budget that funded it had yet to be passed by the Legislature and therefore should not have been approved at that time. 2603:7081:6C40:AA1E:3C85:BB0E:CBCD:150E (talk) 20:52, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Ecclesiastical prison

The article Ecclesiastical prison you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Ecclesiastical prison for comments about the article, and Talk:Ecclesiastical prison/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. blue wall

are terms used to denote the supposed informal code of silence among police officers in the United States.

what's wrong with the above? 172.56.34.25 (talk) 16:05, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the word "supposed" here casts inappropriate doubt on the existence of the blue wall of silence, which is adequately attested in the rest of the article. See WP:DOUBT for more details. — Moriwen (talk) 16:08, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, Moriwen, this is another IP address used by the long-blocked Defeedme, who stalks my edits from time to time. This one at Jeffrey Skilling came right after the one you reverted, and Defeedme has been adding their preferred verbiage at that article for a while (it get reverted quickly, usually). Their IP trail is long but provides a lot of criss-cross evidence. Wes sideman (talk) 17:10, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Ecclesiastical prison

On 16 September 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ecclesiastical prison, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that medieval monks could be punished by being walled up alive in a special ecclesiastical prison called the Vade in Pace? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ecclesiastical prison. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Ecclesiastical prison), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Deletion of Abbreviations

Please stop deleting postnomial abbreviations for clerics. In some cases this is the only way to distinguish between two persons of the same name in lists of bishops, e.g. "Fra Antonio", could be Franciscan, could be Dominican. The abbreviations are NOT decorativev; they contain important information.

Please stop deleting "S." This is part of the name of a cathedral or a church.

I'm sure this is only ignorance of clerical traditions, as I see from the articles you have created.

I draw your attention to WP:NEWBIE: "Policies, guidelines, and formatting norms are developed by the community to describe the best practices, to clarify principles, resolve conflicts, and otherwise further our goals. These rules are principles, not laws, on Wikipedia. To varying degrees, policies and guidelines exist as rough approximations of their underlying principles. They are not intended as inflexible, controlling statutes on any set of norms or practices under all circumstances, nor to exhaustively define all matters within their ambit. They must be understood in context, using common sense and discretion."

The removal of the edit on DPS Varanasi controversies

Hello Moriwen! Delhi Public School is on going through a controversy in which it has lost 0.4 stars on Google Reviews which is a huge topic. If you think my Edit was wrong and the sources were not reliable then it's ok but if it can be published, can you tell me what changes should I make. 146.196.39.97 (talk) 16:11, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The key here is that you need to cite a reliable, secondary source. So, citing its google review page doesn't work: that's not reliable (anyone can post google reviews) and it's not secondary (it's primary, a direct link to the thing happening). On the other hand, if a newspaper runs a story like "Controversy in Delhi: Public School Loses 0.4 Stars on Google Reviews", you can cite that.
For more details, check out WP:RELIABLE. Hope this helps!— Moriwen (talk) 16:15, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New edits of mine for Joep Beving

Hi! I've been looking into classical artists I can listen to that sound akin to Max Richter and Philip Glass and I found Joep Beving. I looked into the page and have added an infobox with relevant information according to the article in its current form as well as forced the usage of international dates. I just hope they'll go well with you, since those are two fixes I thought of, and you were the first registered person I saw in Joep Beving's edit history.

Reason for the latter fix is because we're talking about an international individual here, so international dates (DD/MM/YYYY) should apply, in my honest opinion. If we were talking of someone from America, then we can use MM/DD/YYYY. Thanks for looking into them! Nicole. Oh, she's elegantly clandestine... 12:35, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for patrolling edits by IPs, but have actually read what I have written?

The first edit deals with grammar and is mentioned in the Revision history. A "quarter" (singular) is an American coin; "quarters" (plural) is housing in American English; please see the disambiguation page Quarter.

The second edit deals with Season 3. If you read the main article or watched the show, in this alternative history, Ellen Wilson won the November 1992 election and during Season 3 has become President of the United States, which implies that Season 3 is occurring after January 1993. This is just common sense (at least for American politics). Please ping IronMaximus to see if my changes are correct or not.

The third edit deals with the changes between Season 3 and Season 4 that is mentioned in the montage that is shown during first few minutes of episode 1 of season 4. Please ping IronMaximus to see if my changes are correct or not. (possible citation: https://subjectmedia.org/2023/11/12/for-all-mankind-s4e1-glasnost/ )

Hello Moriwen, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Express League to a proposed deletion tag. Unreferenced drive: Jewish Museum Carlo e Vera Wagner

Hi - a heads up, I've failed this edit - the source cited doesn't indicate "a complete refurbishment" of the museum, which suggests renovations, it notes "curated a new arrangement". Admittedly, the text is slightly ambiguous, but the Museum's website clarifies the issue: Annalisa Di Fant was responsible for new informational texts. You edited Thomas Atkinson (priest) to change " Mr. Vavasour of Willitoft," to "Thomas Vavasour of Willitoft".

It doesn't look like the knight marshal is the correct Thomas Vavasour in this case, it being more likely to be Thomas Vavasour, the physician, though at first quick look I can't find a reference. Can you help identify which Thomas Vavasour this should be? It's entirely possible it is another, not in wikipedia at all. Newystats (talk) 22:38, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ooh, hmm. I think it can't be the latter, because he died in 1585 and the incident was in 1616. Good catch that the knight marshal might not be the right guy, though. I'll poke around a bit and see if I can find any better info.— Moriwen (talk) 22:43, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
After a little poking around I suspect that it was probably in fact Peter Vavasour, but I'm not confident and honestly I can't remember my reason for thinking it was Thomas Vavasour at the time, lol. I'll go ahead and change it back.— Moriwen (talk) 22:50, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Catholic Encyclopedia

I tried the new templates. I even sought help at the Help Desk (23 February), but every time (except once) I substitute a template I get a message that the page in question is no longer there. Only once did I succeed (Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick). Nirva20 (talk) 02:19, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How frustrating!
The trick I've found works well is to look at the New Advent page to find out the exact title, and then use that in the template. Like for Jean-François Landriot, you can see on New Advent that the original title in the Catholic Encyclopedia was "Jean-François-Anne Landriot", so {{Catholic|wstitle=Jean-François-Anne Landriot}} should work, like so:

Right. I realize the name has to be identical but even then, unless I committed a typo, I still had trouble. I'll keep trying. Nirva20 (talk) 05:25, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Gosh, weird and annoying! I'm sorry, I have no idea what's up with that.— Moriwen (talk) 14:35, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I screwed up. I am not the most computer tech savvy person. Nirva20 (talk) 15:25, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
These things can be screwy! I'm just delighted to see someone else working on those articles. :)— Moriwen (talk) 18:17, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page List of missionaries to New Spain, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 18:02, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted

Hi Moriwen. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:52, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deprodding of Yggdrasil_(network)

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Yggdrasil_(network), which you proposed for deletion. Missing pre-requirement for nomination "4. Consider whether alternatives to deletion make more sense than outright deletion." See Before nomination. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! February 2024 WikiProject Unreferenced articles backlog drive – award

Citation Barnstar

This award is given in recognition to Moriwen for collecting more than 200 points during the WikiProject Unreferenced articles's FEB24 backlog drive. Your contributions played a crucial role in sourcing 14,300 unsourced articles during the drive. Thank you so much for participating and helping to reduce the backlog! – – DreamRimmer (talk) 18:48, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your prod now at afd

Editor experience invitation

Hi Moriwen. :) I'm looking for people to interview here. Feel free to pass if you're not interested. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 04:24, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Moriwen, could you please review my draft of actor Westcott Clarke I summited some days ago? Byejai (talk) 10:38, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It looks like most of the sources require a newspapers.com subscription to see, which I don't have, so I don't feel well-placed to evaluate it. Best of luck with the process!— Moriwen (talk) 14:39, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can access newspapers.com through the Wikipedia library. :) Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 18:17, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! I should've thought of that -- thanks so much!— Moriwen (talk) 20:47, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, it's possible that could you review it please? Byejai (talk) 12:47, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken a look, and while you've definitely done some diligent work here, the comment from theroadislong still seems like it applies, as does the previous AFD. I'm just having trouble convincing myself this meets the threshold for notability, I'm afraid.— Moriwen (talk) 15:06, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Moriwen,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Reminders:

  • You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
  • Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
  • To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
