Seems an interesting article. AhmadLX-(Wikiposta) 22:33, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Uthman was a son of Abu al-As ibn Bishr ibn Abd Duhman of the Banu Thaqif tribe based in Ta'if in the Hejaz (western Arabia)." Not on the cited page.
Should be fixed now. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"thman dispatched a force from Ta'if against rebel clans from the tribes of Azd and Bajila in Yemen" The source also names B. Khath'am.
Revised. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"He later contributed a twenty-man force from the city..." The source says that he obliged each district to contribute 20 men. In total they would certainly have been more, unless there was only one district, which can't be the case.
Revised. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Volume / issue missing for Baloch, Nabi Bakhsh Khan (October 1953).
Fixed. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Drop months from Baloch, Nabi Bakhsh Khan (July 1946), Baloch, Nabi Bakhsh Khan (October 1953), Friedmann, Yohanan (December 1970), Ishaq, Mohammad (April 1945).
Done. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Al-Hakam led the raid on Bharuch.[24]" The page cited is out of the articles' page range.
Fixed (and revised sentence to better reflect Baloch’s view) Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"On 29 February 650 he was granted by the caliph a large estate near the city, " I think you don't need the exact date here; it reads weird, as if it were a special day.
Agree, revised. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Meets the criteria; will pass once the remaining 3 points have been addressed. AhmadLX-(Wikiposta) 19:29, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@AhmadLX: Thank you for taking the time to review this article. Let me know if anything else. Al Ameer (talk) 05:31, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for addressing the issues Al Ameer. Nice work. Pass. AhmadLX-(Wikiposta) 13:52, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Note: this represents where the article stands relative to the Good Article criteria. Criteria marked are unassessed
Page title
Is there a specific reason why the subject's full name, "Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi", is not being used as the title. The name is used in full at the outset of the article and in the infobox and is routinely used in full in scholarship, so why truncate it? Iskandar323 (talk) 16:05, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No reason probably—other than keeping it concise. Not opposed to adding the nisba per your comment. Plus, it would help clarify that he was a Thaqafi, not a son of the Umayyad Abu al-As ibn Umayya, as some users previously thought. Al Ameer (talk) 16:20, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
