The Saudi Arabian WikiProject is a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the history of Arabian Peninsula. The goals of this group are three-fold; to provide guidelines and recommendations for articles that describe aspects of Saudi Arabia, to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Saudi Arabia by creating, expanding, and maintaining factual articles, to serve as the point of discussion for issues related to Saudi Arabia in Wikipedia. The scope of this project includes articles related to Saudi Arabia. To achieve the goals, this project group has developed features to help in managing its creative work. It includes Departments, which coordinate work on certain tasks, such as peer review or project-wide collaboration and Work Groups, and focus on content and articles related to Saudi Arabia, such as cities, politics and culture.

• Create and maintain fair and unbiased information on Saudi Arabia.
• Create guidelines and maintain standards for pages involving Saudi Arabia.
• Work to bring Saudi Arabian articles to the highest quality possible.
• Find, Relate and Maintain every random edit about Saudi Arabia on Wikipedia.

Departments are groups of members who do specific work. Tasks include authoring, maintaining the project pages, administering portals, adding articles, participating in reviews, managing the project and so on. The following is a list of departments within the WikiProject. WikiProject Members may not necessarily do only departmental tasks. They can contribute content as a member of Work Groups as well.

Assessment

The assessment department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's Saudi Arabian articles. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognising excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

Outreach

The outreach department guides its members on strengthening the sense of community in this project. Members' tasks include welcoming new members in the project, helping other editors in the project, managing the newsletters and helping the general project community to be in touch.

Peer review

The peer review department conducts peer reviews of Saudi-related articles on request; this helps to obtain ideas for further improvement by having contributors who may not have previously worked on particular articles examine them. Project members are invited to submit articles to the department in lieu of using the generic peer review process.

Portal upkeep

The portal upkeep focuses on updating the portal page of Saudi Arabian articles.

Templates

The templates department focuses on creating and updating the project templates.

Collaboration

The Collaboration department is a co-operation between members to improve special Saudi Arabian topics to reach the FA or GA class of quality.

Photography

The photography department aims to provide a huge collection of photographs and images for use in Saudi Arabia articles.
