COIBot / LiWa3

I am busy slowly restarting COIBot and LiWa3 again - both will operate from fresh tables (LiWa3 started yesterday, 29/12/2013; COIBot started today, 30/12/2013). As I am revamping some of the tables, and they need to be regenerated (e.g. the user auto-whitelist-tables need to be filled, blacklist-data for all the monitored wikis), expect data to be off, and some functionality may not be operational yet. LiWa3 starts from an empty table, which also means that autodetection based on statistics will be skewed. I am unfortunately not able to resurrect the old data, that will need to be done by hand.   • Link whitelisting works, but removing domains from the autoredlist does not (both LiWa and COIBot report that the domains aren't on ARL). MER-C 10:46, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Can someone craft an edit filter that catches creations of pages <organisation.com> which are basically 'this is the official homepage of <organisation>', where <organisation> already has a page. They are almost always a form of promotion/spam, and even a form of SEO (if the wikipage is in mainspace, <organisation.com> will be indexed by Google (and highly ranked, this is Wikipedia .. whereas the http://www.organisation.com is ignored by Google, and will not result in SEO). --Dirk Beetstra T C 07:46, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Question about page for Anthony David Jacques

Today I was searching Wikipedia for information about the necktie and necktie knots, which led me to this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_David_Jacques. I don't know what the standard is for Wikipedia articles, but I noticed A LOT of reference links in the footer area as well as direct links to his Amazon publishing account. He also appears to have taken numerous necktie knots and claimed them as his own with very little variation.

It may just be me but the article reads very glowingly for someone very few people even know exists. It seems to me the page was written by the author directly as a marketing point or to build backlink relevance.

I'm still new to editing and stuff like this, and am curious as to whether this is permitted or what Wikipedia rules cover this type of article or even if I posted this in the correct area. --Derekland (talk) 19:01, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
