Anyone can take part in this event, whatever their previous experience. We hope both inexperienced and seasoned editors will join us in creating biographies of some of the many past and present Jewish women of note who are still red-linked or underdeveloped on the English Wikipedia. Other articles regarding Jewish women, such as the works they created, and so on, are also welcome. The virtual edit-a-thon allows enthusiasts from around the globe to participate in the work. See the "Resources and Red links" section below for guidance. The main goals of the event are: to encourage inexperienced editors and show them how they can contribute to Wikipedia by creating biographies of some of the world's most prominent women to draw the attention of more experienced editors to the need for concerted action on a specific area to support Wikipedia in combating the systemic bias against the coverage of women and women's works In addition to the virtual edit-a-thon, the Center for Jewish History will host the Women in Jewish History 2016 Edit-a-thon on June 5th, 2016 in New York City. This is weird, but two days in a row now, the Pinterest board has been wiped clear--it had 18 pins this morning, none right now. I put them back after this happened yesterday. None of the other pinterest boards seem to have this problem, and I didn't get any notice about Pinterest doing it on purpose. Any ideas? Penny Richards (talk) 15:25, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
