These are all redirects from a broader topic to a significantly narrower one. As I wrote last month, "The theatre certainly played a role in the formation of stereotypes of Irish people, but it hasn't been the primary source of those stereotypes for a century or so, and other stereotypes have developed that differ from those described in that article." Neither Anti-Irish sentiment nor Irish people says anything substantial about stereotypes, nor does Ethnic stereotype cover Irish stereotypes, while Irish Americans does discuss stereotypes but only in the U.S. context. In the absence of a good target I think these should be deleted per WP:RDEL #10. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 17:10, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Given what we have, Anti-Irish sentiment would be the best target among the options, but I don't have a strong preference either way. feminist (talk) | free Hong Kong 17:48, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete to encourage article creation. There is a very wide range of Irish stereotypes, with complex histories all over the English-speaking world - drunken, idle, hard-labouring, quarrelsome and always up for a fight, stupid (thick), gift of the gab, over-literal in understanding, brutish, sentimental, and more. Some of the C19 cartoons are pretty offensive. This recent article in The Irish Times (a good source, in my experience) could provide a start. As well as Stage Irish, there's Irish bull and Irish joke (which is a redirect, but could be treated more fully in an overview of Irish stereotypes). Ubuntu Christian Edition

The result of the discussion was delete, draftification expressly allowed. There's no support for the continued existence of the redirect, given the lack of mention at a target list which now only includes distributions with articles. The closure of the AfD that resulted in the redirect in the first place is certainly questionable, but given the lack of enthusiasm for the article (and the fact that, in the ensuing years since the article was redirected, the distribution seems to have been discontinued anyway), I can only conclude that if I were to arbitrarily draftify this article, it would just sit there and then in due course disappear into the mists via G13. The best solution seems to be to delete the redirect, leave the article history deleted where it is, and explicitly state that any admin is free to restore the content to draftspace if anyone does wish to work on a resurrection of this article. ~ mazca talk 12:38, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Previously an article created in 2006, merged into List of Ubuntu-based distributions (merged into the target article) in 2007, now not mentioned at the target anymore (I can't edit the redirect page, can someone add a RFD template?) Purplneon486 (talk) 11:29, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note RfD tag added. Thryduulf (talk) 14:46, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • And redirect unprotected, the (very limited) revert warring was over a decade ago so there shouldn't be a need for it now. Thryduulf (talk) 16:01, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment This went to Afd twice in mid 2007 resulting in a keep in July and then a merge in October, there was unhappiness on the talk page at the outcome of the second AfD, and at the extreme brevity of the merged information. Looking at the second close it does look rather supervotey so I'm not convinced it would stand up at DRV. A quick google finds no very recent sources, but seemingly several from circa 2015 (post-dating the 2007 merge) so it might be worth spending a bit of time on a new draft. Thryduulf (talk) 14:58, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Does our pageview tool have trouble with templates? I can't see any stats for this. It could be an easy retarget to Template:User Kashmir, but if it's unused, maybe it's not worth it. --BDD (talk) 20:41, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not normally, and it also copes with 0 views (e.g. for Template:User:CoCork [1], which is a similarly named template redirect that had no views in the past month), and it also copes with another redirect from the Template: namespace to the main namespace, e.g. Template:Geologic time scale [2]. The not found error from the API is often seen when requesting stats from before a page was created, but this has existed for several years, so it's definitely not that either - I'm stumped! The result of the discussion was disambiguate. I'll move Metro line (disambiguation) to the base title. Thanks MB for creating it! --BDD (talk) 20:24, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This has redirected for years to Rapid transit#Lines as a generic "transit line". It has recently been changed to a specific line in Canada, the Metro Line. I don't think most readers who search on Metro line would be looking for that specific line. I propose restoring the redirect as it was or creating at dab to handle Metro line, Metro Line, Metroline, and maybe others like Metro Line M4 (Budapest Metro) MB 16:40, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    • It does appear that Metro line can refer to many things, and that a disambiguation page would work better than a redirect. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 17:09, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A redirect to a DAB page, on which all the people are men called Sam or Samuel. Samantha is a feminine given name. Samantha Leach is a journalist; see Purl (film). Delete, to encourage article creation if justified; WP:PRECISE applies. Narky Blert (talk) 11:02, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nominator; current target does not disambiguate for anyone called Samantha, and there's no other article which would make a good target (they only mention her name in the context of citations or attributing quotes to her). 61.239.39.90 (talk) 06:37, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing as per WP:R#PLA, since not mentioned in target. Hildeoc (talk) 01:12, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete or, preferably, add to article. There appears to be no shortage of sources using this appellation for Warren Buffett, and none using it for anything or anyone else, so if it was mentioned at the target it would be a good and likely useful redirect. The optimum solution would therefore seem to be to add a mention to the article. Thryduulf (talk) 03:43, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, or add to target. It’s a well known nickname of Buffett, merits a mention in his article. upon further investigation, I'm not positive that he's really known as 'the Oracle of Nebraska'. He is known as the "oracle of Omaha", but that's different. Of course, if someone can find and add sourcing that he is known as such, keep. Eddie891 Talk Work 11:48, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is unnecessary, as Wikipedia's own search functionalities will get readers to "Iron Man 3" should they put any sort of capitalization of any letters in the search bar. This is an unnecessary extra technical step. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:00, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Helpful and harmless. "Unnecessary" is not a valid argument for deleting a perfectly plausible redirect, which takes readers where they intend to go. CycloneYoris talk! 01:19, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Why have an unneeded technical step inbetween though? If deleted, readers typing "Iron man 3" will still get where intended. The redirect is not helping or aiding in this instance. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:29, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • But this redirect is helpful. Please read WP:RPURPOSE, which explains why redirects are needed. CycloneYoris talk! 02:28, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Reasonable {{r from alternative capitalization}}. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 02:20, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per the above. Multiple methods of finding Wikipedia content (the internal search engine is just one many ways people access the content they are looking far) are case sensitive so redirects other capitalisations are desirable. Thryduulf (talk) 03:37, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
