- Delete and protect per nom. a little insignificant 20:50, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Santhigiri is a related article also being considered for deletion, I suggest it be deleted and protected as well. a little insignificant 20:53, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- strong keep - Article needs sourced and trimmed, but that alone is not a reason for deletion. Although Google archive for The Hindu only go back to about 2001 there are still plenty of stories about him (he died in 1999, and continues to receive news coverage to this day, which says a lot.) A quick search reveals that the subject easily passes the GNG and indeed was likely a pretty important figure in India. Some (but not nearly all) available sources: The Hindu talks about his influence Gov't of India names research center after him The Hindu calls him "one of the remarkable personalities of the 20th century" Express Buzz covers politician referencing his teachings in 2009 and so on... Also is covered in Concise Encyclopaedia Of India (not freely available online). --ThaddeusB (talk) 04:15, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- P.S. protecting over 1 recreation 3.5 years after a previous AfD would be quite excessive even in the least notable case. --ThaddeusB (talk) 05:14, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep What Thaddeus found is enough to justify a keep. I encourage him to edit the article the way it needs to be done. DGG (talk) 04:19, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Very notable religious leader. Plenty of sources exist. I think the nominator has not done WP:BEFORE. Salih (talk) 04:25, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep I've just been editing Santhigiri and have stumbled across enough sources for Karunakara Guru to show notability for both, and an obvious hat tip to ThaddeusB too. No doubt both pages need a lot of work, but that isn't a reason to delete, especially in obvious cases like these. -SpacemanSpiffCalvin‡Hobbes 05:57, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep as per ThaddeusB. Edward321 (talk) 00:48, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
