A doubt reg citing Videos as references

Hi,

I want to write an article on cine actor Pradeep Kottayam . Even though he is a popular figure of contemporary Malayalam movies, there's not much about him on the internet. However I've found two videos of him in the internet. They're two interviews gave by him to Maathrbuhmi News and Indiaglitz. These videos are uploaded by the official portals of the channel itself. Kindly see the links. Is it possible to site these videos as references ? (I've found a wikipedia article reeg the same, however didnt give much of a convincing answer)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi Netha Hussain. I'm an editor (not very active till now) of the Italian Wikipedia, where the gender gap is a real issue. I'm trying to participate to an IEG with the project "Women are everywhere". You will find the draft at this link https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IEG/Women_are_everywhere It would be great if you could have a look at it. I need any kind of suggestion or advice to improve it. Support or endorsement would be fantastic. Many thanks, --Kenzia (talk) 12:00, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Loves Pride 2016

As a past contributor, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?

  1. Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
  2. Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
  3. Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)

Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.

This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.

Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:53, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contacting Editors from the Ada Lovelace Editathons

Hi Netha Hussain,

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you via your talk page. I’m a new Editor to Wikipedia, part of a small research team based at the University of Birmingham in the UK. I’m getting in touch as we’re trying to contact all the Editors who were involved in the Ada Lovelace Editathons in Oxford or London. If you have been, or still are, involved in editing, whatever the scale of your involvement, we would be very grateful for the opportunity to talk to you about your experiences. In the first instance, we’ve set up a short (10 minute) survey, which you can access via my User Talk Pages. If you are interested in helping with our research project, please can you drop me a line?

Account creator granted

After reviewing your request for the "account creator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:

  • The account creator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The account creator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the account creator right will result in its removal by an administrator.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the account creator right. Happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 21:25, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

    • Please note, this is subject to removal after your event (you may always re-request); additionally it is for account throttle creation only - do not use for overriding the blacklist or anti-spoof check. Best of luck for your event! — xaosflux Talk 21:25, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Student assignments

Hallo, I see your name at Wikipedia:Education program/B K Shah Medical Institute as an online participant in this student project. Please try to ensure that the students understand that all material added to the encyclopedia, but most especially on medical topics, needs to be properly sourced. See Wikipedia:Student_assignments#Editing_medicine_and_health_topics. I've seen some very poor editing at TESPAL and Scheibe's dysplasia, and looking at the list of articles Antrochoanal polyps is a mess showing no understanding of the importance of citaion (the references are to loosely-described books - no publisher, no isbn - and not specific to the statements made; the format is wrong, starting with "INTRODUCTION", etc). Thanks. PamD 09:29, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedian in Residence BoF at Wikimania 2017

Hello!

My name is David Alves (User:Horadrim~usurped), and I'm an Wikipedian in Residence at RIDC NeuroMat (User:Horadrim). I've reach your contact through the Wikimedian in residence page in Outreach. As you may know, Wikimania 2017 is coming! I am here because, as a fellow WiR, I believe this would be a great opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss difficulties and exchange solutions, creating a community among us capable of supporting in other projects that would benefit from residents. In that sense, I have submitted a proposal of a Birds of a Feather activity to Wikimania that you can check out here. I hope to count with your support in this project and would like to invite you to join us if you participate in Wikimania. In case of any doubts, please feel free to contact me, either in my talk pages or by e-mail at david.alves(at)outlook.com.

Thank you very much! ‎Horadrim~usurped (talk) 00:33, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please support the Sustainability Initiative!

Please support the Sustainability Initiative!

Hi, Netha Hussain! Please allow me to follow up on a project that was discussed at the Wikimedia Conference in Berlin a couple of weeks ago:

I am writing you to ask for your support for the Sustainability Initiative, which aims at reducing the environmental impact of the Wikimedia movement. Over the past two years, more than 250 Wikipedians from all over the world have come together to push the Wikimedia movement towards greater sustainability.

The Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation has recently passed a resolution stating that the Foundation is committed to seeking ways to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment. Now, we are working with the Wikimedia Foundation staff to have all Wikimedia servers run on renewable energy by 2019.

In order to demonstrate that this is an issue that the community really cares about, I would like to ask you to sign the project page as well. Thank you! --Gnom (talk) 15:52, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. It appears your talk page is becoming quite lengthy and is in need of archiving. According to Wikipedia's user talk page guidelines; "Large talk pages become difficult to read, strain the limits of older browsers, and load slowly over slow internet connections. As a rule of thumb, archive closed discussions when a talk page exceeds 75 KB or has multiple resolved or stale discussions." - this talk page is 959.7 KB. See Help:Archiving a talk page for instructions on how to manually archive your talk page, or to arrange for automatic archiving using a bot. If you have any questions, place a {{help me}} notice on your talk page, or go to the help desk. Thank you. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 16:51, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
