For a new user, you don't ask much, I was kinda expecting more questions and I have kinda been ticking over the idea that you might have perceived my "little while" for a great deal longer than I did. • Just add {{User Wikiproject New Jersey}} to your user page. See List of municipalities in New Jersey (by population) for a list of all municipalities. Towns don't work the same way as in New York; I grew up in a village within a town in New York, while in New Jersey village, town, township, city or borough are all different types of government at the same level. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Firstly the signature page.

I assume this is the signature pages where the user asks people to sign right?

To create a signature page you have to create a user sub-page, which in this case would be like this, User:Mm40/Signature. Click on the red link and the create a signature page like the others you have seen, and then create a link on your user page asking people to sign that page.

If thats not what you want and what you actually want is to customize your signature that appears when you type ~~~~, got to my preferences and go to the signature box and type in whatever you want people to see when you type ~~~~, for example [[User:Mm40|Mm40]]/[[User Talk|Talk to me!]] and remember to check the raw signature box, which will allow multiple links in your signature rather than just a link to your user page. I hope that waffle that I typed above helped.

Score. Wikipedia time is commonally known as UTC, which is also GMT. You can calculate the time on wikipedia with some simple maths, which was what I was going to recommend previously (its always been very easy for me since I live in the GMT time zone), but while researching this reply I came accross this template which can be used for such a purpose as yours.

This first one is part of a nav box I stole from The time project, lots of the above the markup is perfunctory, its for the pretty box that is comes in, along with the picture, I also made some alterations to it make it more suitable for your user page, like replace the words in bold, and make it not mess up the layout of your user page...too much. You can also have it on the right of your user page if your prefer, by changing the changing the relevant section to float: right.

Hi! I appreciate you're acting in good faith but it's best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. This way they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar with the sources to make any suggested improvements. Now someone who hasn't worked on the article can't provide this input, so the FAC rumbles on until the opposes become so overwhelming that the article is failed. This is a waste of reviewers' time. While the Benazir Butto article is reasonable, it is certainly not FAC quality as is evidenced by the lukewarm reception so far. Unless you are in a position to substantially improve the article, you might - I say might - want to consider withdrawing it. Hello there sorry for the slow reply, but I was internet-less for a couple of days, to find out who created an article, click on the history tab find "earliest" which will take you to the fist page of edits, and the first edit and therefore the person who made that edit will be on the very bottom of the page. Some articles which are older than the current history system don't have who created them listed however.

Secondly, to arbitration is the highest form of conflict resolution, which is only used after discussion between the users has failed and discussion on WP:ANI has failed. The arbitration committee is a group of users who basically rule on difficult situations where a precedent hasn't been set and due to the nature of situation, difficult to set a precedent. Mmk, I have fixed your talk page so its one hundred percent troll free. As you can see, I restored the last good version which hasn't got any edits that you don't want in it, and then copy and pasted the good edits after the last good version and reinstated them on your talk page. No the edits that he made to your user talk page weren't a proper way to deal with a any user let alone a newish user like yourself. I am sure you are aware of the adage, "two wrongs don't make a right", it illustrates that even if Wwesocks thought that you had wronged him, the way to respond isn't by blanking a talk page and leaving a message in caps on your talk page with strong, harsh language isn't the way we roll on wikipedia. Quite frankly edits like these are in serious danger of breaching WP:NPA, which is one edit, which I only just noticed.

Mainspace edits are all the edits you make to the "article" namespace.

Hi, since I don't recall interacting with you before, I'll first say welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for taking the time to help out in new page patrolling. Be aware that, if you see a new article which is an obvious misspelling of an existing article, such as J.k.rolwing, it is often much easier to merge any information which may be new into the correct article and create a redirect to the correct article. The reasoning behind this is that the user, who is probably brand new, most likely misspelled Rowling's name on a search and, seeing there did not appear to be an article there, decided to start one. If one person misspelled Ms. Rowling's name, others have the potential to as well and a redirect will help assure this does not occur again in the future. Not too good, I haven't started one of them yet still, and I need to finish it by thursday, but the other one is reaching something resembling completion. Hi, declined the speedy on this as it made sense to me. Also, I don't think it's helpful to hand new users a vandal warning on top of a deletion notice. It may discourage potentially constructive editors without helping them to contribute constructively. I generally give them a deletion notice with a welcome. Could I ask you to take another look at this AfD? I've moved the article to the appropriate title, expanded it and added a reference, which takes care of most of the concerns of the editors suggesting "delete". The combination is used differently from either drug independently and there is also a suggested effect on paracetamol's absorption by metoclopramide, which suggests an article on this topic would be useful. Feature The Importance of the Lead The lead is one of the most important parts of any Wikipedia article; its job to summarize the article in 2 to 3 paragraphs in order to familiarize the reader with the structure of the content that you will providing them as well as to give a quick one-minute overview of the topic. Many articles that are processed through Good Article or Featured Article assessments will be heavily scrutinized for a poor lead section. For articles dealing with video games, a common practice has developed for leads, being a 3-paragraph discussion. First paragraph The first paragraph should state the name of the game (using both bold (to identify the article's name) and italics as per the manual of style), along with any other alternate names the game may go by. The genre of the game should be clearly identified as well as the developer and the publisher. If a notable person has been cited by the game as having worked on the game's development (such as Tim Schafer or David Jaffe), this should also be noted. Release dates should be given, along with the release of any ports, remakes, or sequels. Second paragraph The second paragraph should summarize the plot briefly in one or two sentences; a high level overview is only needed to set the stage for further discussion. One or two sentences should be included to discuss the gameplay, including any notable features of the game. Third paragraph The third paragraph should cover the reception of the game, citing its general critical reaction and any significantly notable successful or failing elements in the game. If the game has won awards, this aspect can be noted, but specific mention of any award is discouraged. This approach should help you to write a good lead for nearly any game, though this may need to be altered for other games. If there's not a lot of reception information for a game, it may be worthwhile to combine the listed first and third paragraphs into one paragraph. Thank you to all! GA Topic Do you know what a GA topic is? If you are not nodding your head, or don't know what I'm talking about, then you should pay attention to this article. There are ten GA top-level topics (but you will spot the eleventh as this article goes along). These topics are: Arts, Language and literature, Philosophy and religion, Everyday life, Social sciences and society, Geography and places, History, Engineering and technology, Mathematics, and Natural sciences. Each of these topics are further narrowed down to more specific topics. For example, Arts can be narrowed down to Art and architecture, Music, and Theatre, film and drama. But let's not get into sub-topics in this article because of its depth. Now you will probably ask, "I already knew this, so what is your point?" What I want to illustrate is that some people often forget a step when they promote an article to GA. After they have posted their review in the article talk page, added the article name to the corresponding topic in the good article page, increased the GA count by 1, and added the {{GA}} to article talk page, many reviewers tend to forget to add the topic parameter in {{GA}} or {{ArticleHistory}}. You can browse the topic parameter abbreviations at on this page as well as what each top-level GA topic means, because sometimes it can be chaotic and confusing to pick a topic. For example, should On the Origin of Species be placed under the Natural Science topic (because it's related to evolution), or under the Language and Literature topic (because it is a book)? The correct answer is to place it under Language and literature topic, because its categorization as a proper title supercedes other categories. Let's go back to the page that shows GA topics; does anyone spot the eleventh topic? Yes, Category:Good articles without topic parameter is the 11th topic, only it shouldn't be there. Articles that do not have a topic parameter in either {{GA}} or {{ArticleHistory}} will be placed in this category. The topic "Uncategorized" is not very informative, is it? So if you have time, you can consider cleaning up the articles that are left in this category and move them to the appropriate category by adding a topic parameter. That's it for this month, I hope you learned a little from it. GA Sweeps Update The GA Sweeps process is progressing nicely! During the month of April, a total of 26 articles were reviewed. Of that total, 15 were found to continue to meet the GA criteria, and two were delisted. There are currently six articles that are still on hold in this process, awaiting revisions. One article was exempted from review because it was promoted to FA. Two articles were exempted from review because they were already delisted by another member in the community. We are once again recruiting new sweeps participants. Candidates should be very strong and comfortable in reviewing GA and familiar with the GA processes and criteria. Did You Know... ...that there are slightly less than twice as many Good Articles as Featured Articles? ...that the total number of Good Articles and Featured Articles combined is 6,085? ...that different languages have different symbols representing GA? (Alemannic uses , Bavarian uses , Czech and French use , Estonian, Icelandic, and Swedish use , Esperanto and German use , Polish, Spanish, and Turkish use , Portuguese uses , Russian uses , Ukrainian uses ) Note: Lithuanian and Serbian have their own symbol but only uploaded locally. Other languages not listed above either have the same symbol as english or they don't have GA process. From the Editors There is currently a debate on adding a small green dot to the top right corner of all Good Articles that pass the criteria, similar to the small bronze star that is added to the top right corner of Featured Articles. Okay. I should point out that the edit to the article was on 22 April. It is good that it got reverted, but there is no point in blocking the account - who hasn't edited since - for the standard 24-31 hours since it will likely not to effect that editor and might possibly effect another person who has now been reassigned that ip. It is for that reason that the AIV board requests that reports should be for accounts that are vandalising "now". Feature Writing about Gameplay The Gameplay section is a crucial component of a good video game article. Although it may be relatively easy for an experienced gamer to write such a section, care must be taken to maintain an appropriate focus and balance. The section should be written for readers with little or no knowledge of video gaming and should not be filled with detailed information about weapons, levels, or other such topics that are only of interest to the video gamer or that might be found in a game guide. Your goal for crafting a good section is to have people who have never picked up the game understand the basic mechanics. Do note, however, that it's safe to assume the reader has at least a minor knowledge of what a video game is. This section often begins the body text after the lead, but is sometimes placed after the Plot section. Games with little or no story can cover the plot in the Gameplay section. When writing about a game, use your head and common sense about the ordering. Generally, start off with a broad stroke—is the game a RTS or an FPS, etc. Don't talk about why the gameplay is like it is; generally, that is better placed in the 'Development' section later on in the article. Images can be added to better illustrate some aspects of gameplay. Generally, a single screenshot will suffice. Because of screenshots are non-free content, usage should be minimalised. Multiple images can be used, but all images should add something to the article beyond what the prose states. All non-free images require a fair use rationale to be used on Wikipedia. Things to remember Don't add in cruft about weapons, levels, and minute details of trivia; gameplay sections should serve as a primer to the game, not an exhaustive list of every facet of the game. Don't use gaming jargon which can be confusing to readers, such as "NPC" or "MMORPG". If you use these terms, state the full name and the abbreviation the first time it appears. For example, "Halo is a first-person shooter, or FPS." Wikilink! So you don't have to describe what a god game is, link it. Talk about what makes the game different from others; if you only talk about why StarCraft is a real-time strategy game, then readers could just visit the article about the game genre and be better served. It sickens me that I have to see this horrible piece of trashy american propoganda when someone is "welcomed" into Wikipedia. This isn't the United States army! Hi Kerotan - this is in response to your comment. You mentioned that you were interested in starting an Ultimate related wiki, but before you do, I would like to point out Ultipedia, a mediawiki based wiki already dedicated to the sport. I set up and maintain Ultipedia, though I don't have the time to contribute as much content as I'd like, but I do keep the software up to date. There are many areas that could use attention, especially from a seasoned Wikipedian. Sorry if I overstepped, but this particular person (scrivin, a/k/a DavidYork71) has over 300 sockpuppets, and is blocked for life, so I was not too careful. Also, checking references is not very easy, though if I had troubled to read over the Keynes article first I would have had reason to doubt whether it was vandalsm.

It might be a good idea to clarify the policy on the WP:SOCK page. Does one assume good faith for a banned user, or a sockpuppet thereof?

Yes I saw that too and thought mine was acceptable (it was similar to yours) but then I read: "...including brief additional internal links is generally tolerated when used to facilitate communication or to provide general information, but undesirable if seen as canvassing for some purpose."

i.e. if the link goes to your talk page or another page with general information then it's fine, but if you're bugging someone to go sign your guestbook then I think that's seen as canvassing. The issue has recently been discussed on other pages including this one. It's up to you at the end of the day but general consensus is that it's frowned upon.
