Hi there, you rv'ed my edit on the Spurs page which was based on references on the page of the Sheriff of London Charity Shield. There are a number of references that show Spurs simply did not compete for the trophy in 1935 - it was not played that year (and in fact not again until 1964). I don't want to get into an edit war, but you're wrong on this occasion. I leave it to your discretion? Mountain^cirque 20:31, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

My issue is lazy editors who add content and then expect others to source it. The content I removed was not sourced, which is why I removed it. The content being (partly) sourced in another ref on the same page is not good enough, we need a full idea of where the info has come from i.e. direct in-line citations for EVERYTHING. Hi Govvy,

• There is no minimum period for an ANI thread.
• It might look like people are yanking your chain by closing the new thread down too, but they aren't. It probably isn't cooling things off, but that's what they think they're doing.
• ANI is for behavioral issues; Bbb23 hasn't behaved wrongly (and even if he did, it would be overwhelmed by your calling him a racist. Deeply, deeply uncool).
• Maybe Bbb23 could have explained in a little more detail why he thinks those sources aren't reliable, but now others have. You can discuss the sources, as he suggested, at WP:RSN. Or, I see you brought it up at the article talk page, that works too.
• Unfortunately, telling someone to "cool down" is always seen as patronizing, but that is still my honest, friendly, unpatronizing advice. You've been here a while, doing good work... surely you've seen someone lose their cool without really realizing they've done so? Today it's your turn. I don't see any evidence there that Welbeck got a medal. Like the dispute over Ronaldo and the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, there may be evidence that suggests he got a medal, but no concrete evidence that he did. He may have been part of the trophy celebrations, but I don't see a medal around his neck in any of those photos, and Eurosport is hardly an authority on the subject. – PeeJay 12:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Hello Govvy,

I have noticed that with this edit to Kyle Naughton that you have updated the stats but you have done some of it slightly wrong. On the first row where it was titled 'Total', you have added up the appearances and goals for the Gretna and Sheffield United seasons. The 'Total' rows are for one club over at least two seasons only. This has now been corrected with a further two small mathematical mistakes made by another user.

The changes you made didn't add up at all, I have reverted, you also took out a totals line which is a splitter between loan and full-contract. Hi, I'm starting with a rewrite of the History of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. article first before I add the most important points to the main article of the club. I read a number of sources and there are some disagreements on some of the facts, therefore I'm adding what I think may be the most appropriate ones. However, I don't claim to be any authority on this, and you may disagree on some of the points, so you are welcome to adjust them, and we can discuss further on any point if necessary.

Also, if you can, perhaps you can help identify some of the players in the images here and here that have not been identified, for example here, and the individual members of the team here. The aim would be to have as many suitable pictures for the various articles related to Spurs. The pictures from the 1970s are probably not good enough for History article, we probably need some of players from the late 60s to 70s, also missing are some pictures of the team of the 1950s, the Gascoigne Linker era, also Klinsmann, Ginola and Sheringham periods. Thanks for the confirmation of Martin Peters, although Maurice Norman might not fit the date of the second picture (1973). That one is difficult because it was a friendly and there isn't much information on that. For some of the pictures I checked by looking at old videos, although it can be hard to see because the video images are often not clear (I can see from a video that the person in the first picture (1981) was wearing a No. 3 shirt, but not sure if he was Graham Roberts). Thanks for the suggestions. It could be Paul Miller if this is what the book says. I'm uncertain on Ralph Coates as he was already going bald on top from videos of the period I have seen. It was the way the hair was flowing that made me think of Coates (can we see the top of his head in the photo?). Beal is also possible, though. Hello Govvy. I'm a fairly new user to Wikipedia so I don't intend to step on anyone's toes. Anyway, I noticed you reverted my edit of Brandon Austin's nationality on the Tottenham Academy page. I had made the change because he is eligible for the USA and has represented the USA U18 side as you can read here^[1] and here^[2], and in contrast, has not yet been called to any England youth teams. @ChuckMe92: It clearly says on his Tottenham article he was born and raised in Hemel Hempstead, but then again we do tend to use flags for which country he represents, it seems they have updated his article since I last looked at it to include he has represented US so you can change it back if you want. Thank you for the reply and I will make the change. Austin's situation seems to resemble that of Cameron Carter-Vickers, who was also integrated into the US at U18 level. Both of their fathers played college basketball in the US, in fact at rival schools of the Southeastern Conference, the Louisiana State Tigers for Carter-Vickers' father and the Georgia Bulldogs for Austin's father. Hi, I am not certain if I am doing this correct here, but I wonder why you reverted the edit for 8 bit. You appear to refer to the talk page (you mean the discussion on the article and its past where people edited 8/16 before?) I see no argument for 16bit other than falling for Ataris marketing that referred to it as 16bit (but in most official statements they add '16 bit graphics'). They probably felt defensive for using the 6502 derivative still in 1989 rather than 'more fancy' Motorolas :) The CPU is 8 bit. All the code for the Lynx is 8 bit. The one thing that "has 16 bit" is the chip embedding that functionality. Most notably 'Suzy' which is responsible for the fast gfx plotting (the gfx itself even though called 16 bit, is not. The palette is 12 bit (4096 colors) of which only 4 bit can be used in the plain gfx mode. So really, Lynx being 16 bit is like a long lasting hoax. We don't call gamer PCs 256 bit because the GPUs have that. I really wonder who can defend 16 bit here. I am open to discuss this but I am a bit annoyed by the sentiment 'it is 16 bit because it always was'. Cheers :) -retroenwickler

WTF are you talking about, I said IP is equivalent to guest user access, if you bother to register a username thats then can become confirmed user access where you can also edit protected articles. I never said second class citizens, I am saying something completely different and how AfD gets abused by people voting twice on their confirmed user access and then logging out and voting again on their guest access. @Govvy:, there has never been a requirement that I'm aware of for registering for an account to edit AfD discussions nor have AfD discussions been protected as a matter of course. I'm reasonably sure that an editor with such a long record here as yours is aware of where to report a belief that a user editing both in their user name and under and IP address. Every experienced AfD closer is aware of the issue of double-voting but it is certainly a personal attack to accuse an IP editor of sock-puppeteering without evidence. I need to do some more research, although my sense is several clubs in the USL are professional, and a few may not be (e.g., I have a difficult time believing a club like Richmond Kickers is professional when it has amateur players on academy contracts playing in its league matches - albeit sparingly). As far as I am aware runner up in leagues isn't an honour, it's rare to give runner up medals for a league. You would have to find citation for this. Govvy (talk) 16:39, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Govvy, I think the DM article was just reporting on what was said in a pre-match presser. You can see similar reports in the Sun (which tbh is no better than the DM as a "reliable" source)[7] and Eurosport.[8]. An article on WalesOnline[9] mentions other clubs he played for (West Ham, Leyton Orient, Maidstone, Barnet and Dagenham), but this is no indication that he actually registered an appearance for any of them. Probably the only club there that might get him past WP:NFOOTY would be Orient if he did actually register an appearance, but I haven't found any evidence of this. If he did (or even if he made the bench), he should be included in Neilson N. Kaufman; Alan E. Ravenhill (2002). The Men Who Made Leyton Orient Football Club. History Press Limited. ISBN 978-0-7524-2412-5. (annoyingly, this used to be online, but the key pages haven't been archived[10]). There is also a bit more bio in the original Dover announcement[11]. Just because the game is old doesn't mean it is impossible to write a good article. The problem here isn't lack of information, it just doesn't follow the WP:VG article guidelines at all. Here are more detailed tasks to improve the article:

• Add a screenshot
• Add a Gameplay section
  • Use reviews and other articles that discuss the gameplay to write this
  • It should come before the Plot
  • Merge Space Port Shop into this section
• Take only the key plot points in the Missions and Pilots sections and merge into plot. Most of the details here are insignificant. • Place the key staff into the infobox, not in prose. See Template:Infobox video game
• If you can't find any info about the game's development or release. Try to write a background section, like Lunar Jetman, or somehow briefly mention the game's release and merge into reception, like Cobra Triangle.
• Reception isn't bad, but see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games/Article_guidelines#Reception. Try to write based on theme rather than "he said, she said".

Hello Govvy and thanks for the latest revert on my talk page. The IP address and hundreds of others who write this 'weird disruptive edit' is a long term vandal called My Royal Young who vandalises at random times when we least expect it. This user has managed to find certain users and vandalises their talk pages as part of the long disruption which has happened over seven months now along with certain pages (thankfully not relating to the Premier League). Certain admins have blocked the vandal but after IP blocks have expired, the edits come back. This 'lorem ipsum' thing is found on the linked page, I have no idea on what that is and the one you have reverted has a heading named after a wiki administrator named 'zzuuzz' and ends with the link to the user page of that user. Feel free to revert that type of disruptive editing if it happens again, and same to the other users around the project. Thanks, Iggy (talk) 17:06, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
