@Ashvin29: HI, thanks for communicating. Yes, the infobox will take the default size if no image size is given, and it is preferred over hard-coding per guidelines. The image resolution is correct and will work. No worries . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:27, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Thank you sir, I am proud of you for your reply. Ashvin29 (talk) 16:42, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

Udham Singh

Blocked the editor as NOTHERE, this source should possibly be added, can you do it?[1] Doug Weller talk 09:19, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

@Doug Weller: Judging from this edit, the user seems like a part of the moolnivasi activism per which non-SC/ST population of India (and possibly the subcontinent) are non-native invaders alongwith Hinduism. Ironically, they seem to believe that Buddhism is native. Thanks sir for blocking him. As for this source, there are already 3 instances of it referring to 3 different pages of the book in Udham Singh article. But I've added another instance with source quote, that particularly refers to the page where his birth name (Sher Singh) is explicitly mentioned [2]. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:21, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk Thanks. Life is too hectic for me at the moment. Doug Weller talk 16:30, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Can you help me add more information for the Kambojas and Kamboj Wikipedia page?

Hi Fylindfotberserk, the Kamboj and Kambojas Wikipedia page has been gatekeeped and vandalized several times. I see that you continue to delete new information on the page regardless if it is backed up by sources or not. The talk page of the Kamboj Wikipedia has more information than the real page why is that? The Kambojas Wikipedia page used to have atleast 20+ sources yet now barely a few sources. So I was wondering since you’re more knowledgeable than me, if you could help update the Kamboj Wikipedia page. Thanks! IndianHistorianMan647582 (talk) 17:06, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

@IndianHistorianMan647582: I explained in my edit summary, the sources you used are for the historic people the Kambojas, not the modern caste/community Kamboj. So they are served better in teh former article, not the latter one. Secondly, the sources you used for the gotras/clans are unreliable. The Etymology section you added also had WP:OR, that is sources mentioning Cambyses, but not Kamboja, not to mention, everything "Kamboja" related has to be put in Kambojas article not in "Kamboj" article. Third, there are British Raj era sources also which are considered unreliable in Wikipedia per WP:RAJ. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:15, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
I know that, however this isn’t fair for my community. The Khatri, Jatt, Arain Wikipedia pages have more information. Yet every time someone puts information on the Kamboj or Kambojas Wikipedia page it’s always deleted regardless if it has sources. This is clearly vandalism and gate keeping. Clearly it seems like an agenda is being pushed through, look at Wikipedia pages for other ethnic groups around the world. Like Chuvashes who are descended of Bulgars yet I can’t write down that Kamboj are descended of Kambojas because someone will delete it. My question is why is Talk Kamboj have more information than the Kamboj Wikipedia? It’s like someone is clearly hiding all this information. I’ve been on Wikipedia without an account for 10 years. The kambojas Wikipedia page had a ton of sources several years ago. The page was really long. Someone is hiding all this information. Which is why I need help. IndianHistorianMan647582 (talk) 17:39, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
@IndianHistorianMan647582: Wikipedia is not a place to one-up certain community above others. The Jat and Khatri do not have similarly named ancient people. Secondly using sources that refer to the ancient group and use it for the modern community/cast is WP:OR. For starters, you can draft and shape a 'History' section in your sandbox using WP:HISTRS compliant sources (books and journals) written by scholars usually from notable publishers (University of Cambridge, etc), dealing with the modern history of the 'Kamboj caste/community. Work on it for sometime and when done, add it in the Kamboj article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:11, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi Sir, i wanted to check on this revert [[3]] My concern is that this is actually not a source or a fact rather an opinion of a third person that his ancestry is from Herat. The statement in the article that the ancestry is from Herat is based upon this single line "While Aamir's family hails from Herat in [[4]]" I think a more credible reference should be there for such a statement. Would appreciate your opinion on this and would appreciate if the statement could be removed until a more fact based reference is added ? Kami2018 (talk) 00:49, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

@Kami2018: Thanks for communicating. This is not an opinion piece, but an article compiled and published by the reputable news agency Indo-Asian News Service, having excepts from interview of an Afghan journalist by the name Mehboobullah, both being credible enough for that and inclusion in Wikipedia. Besides, many people of the subcontinent are Afghans or part Afghans. I don't see why it is an issue. You can raise the topic in the talk page however, for WP:CONSENSUS and more comments. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:12, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

MOSNUM_dates improvements

Hi: I see you have been recently using User:Ohconfucius/script/MOSNUM dates.js to insert Use...dates templates among other things. I've made some changes to get those templates inserted in a place that's more in accordance with MOS:ORDER, although it doesn't (yet) move the template if it is already there in the source.

Before getting the official version replaced, would you be so good as to give my version a final shakedown? If you see anything badly wrong, please let me know. To use it, in your common.js on line 1, replace Ohconfucius with DavidBrooks (and flush cache). Thanks in advance. David Brooks (talk) 19:44, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

@DavidBrooks: Awesome. I'll test it, and let you know. Thanks . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 20:04, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
@DavidBrooks: Used in some pages, looks fine to me. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:32, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
