I chose Fluxresearch as a username because it's my username across the web for key accounts such as Twitter and Gravatar. It is also the name of my main blog but Flux Research itself is not an actual business. It's more of a web identity than anything else.

I understand what you say about it not being that of a business- though if it is the name of your blog that would also not be permitted(as it is the name of a website, your blog). Please review the Username policy(linked to above). It was apparently pulled in using Reflinks. Can it be edited?

The only problem with this link to the currently live site is the html at the end: http://www.culturalresearch.org/qhet.html

This is the current link for the article: http://www.culturalresearch.org/qhet

That's the link people need to cite the currently available paper. The site was changed to Wordpress and that's why the url changed.

Linking to the actual paper rather than an archived version would facilitate: accurate references contacting the author seeing more of the author's work.

Please explain why the link is no longer going to the actual paper when it's readily available.

Firstly, you can find my talk page via the "talk" link in my signature; it's at User talk:Huon. At the top of the talk page you'll find a "new section" tab you can use to start a new discussion. That said, it's generally better to keep conversations in one place; you could have replied above by clicking the "edit" (or possibly "edit source") link next to the previous section's heading. Then you don't need to copy-paste the past conversation either.

Regarding the reference, I'm sorry for not understanding the first time what you meant by "fix this reference link that has html at the end" - I saw that the link indeed led to a 404 error page, found the archived copy and thereby fixed the immediate issue. I'm working on a discography for a American jazz musician who's worked with many musicians from other countries.

So I already have a couple of musicians in the list who have German Wikipedia pages and I'm sure there will be more like that.

How do I link the artist name to those pages? The Redirect option doesn't seem relevant.

It's possible to link to pages on other language versions of Wikipedia by using the correct language code. For example, if I wanted to link to the German article on Germany itself, it would look like this in the code: [[:de:Deutschland|Germany]] and this on the page: Germany (click to see where the link goes). However, if there's a reasonable chance that the musicians you're linking might warrant a page in English (the relevant criteria are at WP:NMUSIC), you might be better off inserting a redlink instead (just wikilink the name in the usual way). This indicates to readers that the article is "missing", and hopefully someone will follow the redlink and create the page. You'll probably need to make a call on this on a case-by-case basis if the musicians in question ae only borderline notable. Yunshui ^雲_水 15:54, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
