Please don't report information not included in the news article.

Hello, I've had to revert part of your edit to List of fatal dog attacks in the United States, specifically this incident: https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2019/03/20/tennessee-woman-mauled-death-six-german-shepherds/3223436002/ where you listed the breed as 'Mixed breed' despite the article clearly stating German Shepherds.

Wikipedia does not allow original research/speculation and your edits must report what WP:Reliable sources say. Traumnovelle (talk) 21:16, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. CComp542Veraion19 (talk) 21:24, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recent addition to list of fatal dog attacks in the US.

Hello, I undid your last edit where you cited https://www.fatalpitbullattacks.com/children-killed-by-pit-bulls.php Wikipedia requires all information and there are guidelines on how to identify sources that are reliable and those that aren't (see WP:V and WP:RS). Fatalpitbullattacks.com just republishes information from dogsbite.org, also an unreliable source as they are both self-published and don't have any reputation for fact checking compared to something like a newspaper or a book published by a reputable company.

The news articles listed in the dogsbite articles are usually good enough to be used as a reliable source, just make sure you're reading them and taking the information from the articles themselves and not dogsbite.org. If you're unsure about a source you can ask on Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard and Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources has information on some commonly used/well known sources. I guess I won't cite anymore? CComp542Veraion19 (talk) 20:02, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can cite reliable sources such as the news articles linked by dogsbite.org, just make sure you report what the news report has stated and not anything from dogsbite.org itself. Traumnovelle (talk) 20:03, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recent addition to List of fatal dog attacks in the US

Today, you re-added content to this article that is not backed by the sources, specifically the names of the victims. It would be very helpful if you stopped making these types of edits, especially while the article is undergoing an AfD. These types of edits only serve to support the claims of those who want to delete this article. In addition, you added a new attack indicating that the breed was unknown and that the attack included two dogs; the article clearly says the dogs were German shepherds and that 3 dogs were involved in the attack. You made similar additions the other day, with details that did not match the source. This is especially problematic when details such as the dog breed do not match the source, making it seem like you have a bias or agenda. Please make sure that your additions use the cited sources for information and that you cite all sources used. Thanks. Rublamb (talk) 02:44, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
