The result of the move request was: not moved. ArmbrustTheHomunculus 09:15, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Edison Welding Institute → EWI Edison Welding Institute company name is officially EWI. EWI is a registered trademark. See website: http://ewi.org and http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4804:5t4j0y.2.12. – RLG429 (talk) 20:00, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Your request implies the move of EWI off the primary topic, and thus implies moving EWI → electric wind instrument or electronic wind instrument. This is potentially controversial and needs to be discussed. Wbm1058 (talk) 20:39, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose: A Google search for EWI suggests those initials are used for a lot more than the four things we now have at EWI (disambiguation). To make this institute be the primary topic for EWI we would be saying it gets more views than everything else put together. That seems unlikely. It's a nonprofit membership group with annual revenue of about $30 million. The fact that EWI may be a trademark doesn't influence Wikipedia's thinking. Most likely the initials 'EWI' have no primary topic, so the DAB page could be moved to EWI, per Anthony's suggestion. EdJohnston (talk) 22:10, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - leave as is (best) or (second choice) move to EWI (insitute). Support move of EWI (disambiguation) to EWI, and that on to → electric wind instrument per User:Anthony Appleyard and User:EdJohnston. But that probably needs a related move template... which will add at Talk:EWI.... done. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:27, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose deleting the article at EWI requires a WP:AFD. WP:RM cannot be used to delete another article to usurp its place. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 04:26, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually EWI is an electric wind instrument from a specific company. There is no suggestion that it be deleted. It would at most be moved to something like EWI (instrument) if it is agreed that it is not the WP:Primary topic for EWI. EdJohnston (talk) 18:37, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
