Talk:Battle of Ongal

Reintroduction of a wrong map against a right one July 3, 2017

Island Peuce was the name of a part of the Danube delta (not be confused with Leuce island, today Zminyi). The map reintroduced July 3, 2017, show the actual shoreline of the Danube delta and two giant canals, totally fictitious, through 200m high hills! I don't understand why some contributors are so keen to spread these errors? May be because these errors come from their schoolbooks to which they are sentimentally attached? --MAXHO (talk) 12:43, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The battle

Imo, that section is problematic:

  • A huge part of it consists of a quote from a primary source (no citation). Articles should be based primarily on reliable secondary sources.
  • The remaining text (completly unreferenced too)just repeats the primary source, except for a vague statement that half of the primary source is "according to popular belief".

I think we can do better than that.--Dipa1965 (talk) 19:15, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Significance

"This battle was a significant moment in European history". Although I think that this statement is probably true, we need a secondary citation to support it.--Dipa1965 (talk) 19:19, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
