Welcome to the Balkan military history task force, which covers the military history of the Balkan region. If you have any questions about articles or are generally seeking advice, you're encouraged to ask at the main military history talk page, or you can directly approach one of the task force participants below.

The coordinators of the Military history WikiProject can be contacted here.

Scope

This task force covers the military histories of all Balkan groups and states, as well as military activity in the Balkans by non-Balkan powers, from the fall of the Roman Empire (c. 500) to the present day. The countries included in the Balkans region for the purposes of this task force are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Turkey.

The military history of the region preceding the fall of the Roman Empire is covered by the Classical warfare task force. The military history of the Ottoman Empire is covered by the Ottoman military history task force.

Any article related to this task force should be marked by adding Balkan-task-force=yes or Balkan=y to the {{WPMILHIST}} project banner at the top of its talk page (see the project banner instructions for more details on the exact syntax). This will automatically place it into Category:Balkan military history task force articles.
