GA Hold: Minor fixes needed

Per WP:WIAGA I am putting this article on hold pending the following fixes:

  • Organization: Pictures are in a rough place. Consider distributing pictures throughout the article, or better yet, keeping ONLY the most recent pic and moving the rest to the gallery. Cramming 3 pics into the lead, and worse yet, squeezing a block of text between pics, is a problem. Either solution is OK, but something has to be done.
  • Unencylopedic tone or POV language or general copyediting in places:
    • Lead: "affectionately" is unneeded. just say "known".
    • Block 37:"prior failed attempts" redundant. All failed attempts are prior. Pick one.
    • Block 37: "disappointing" again expresses opinion. Leave words like this out. Adjectives are not your friend.
    • Block 37 troubles: "Almost every stage of development has been a struggle" Unneeded sentance. The section title already sets this thesis out, so this sentance is redundant, and also probably expresses opinion.
    • Same section: Golub's relationship with Mills is unclear. Please rewrite to clarify some.
  • Some external links probably unneccessary:
    • Blownup projected view
    • Pictorial Block 37 information
  • Also, external links section should always be the last section of the article, after notes and gallery.
  • Over-referencing: If something is mentioned in the lead AND in the article, it isn't necessary to reference the lead. ALSO, there are places where an entire paragraph is referenced to one source, and each individual sentance is referenced. If the whole paragraph is referenced to the same source, just cite at the end for improved readability.

Make these fixes in the next week and I will pass the article. If you cannot get the fixes done in the next 7 days, the hold will expire, and I will have to fail the article. If you have any questions, please drop a line by my talk page. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 23:23, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Passed

All fixes complete. Congrats! --Jayron32|talk|contribs 19:03, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Completion

Just FYI, the Completion section needs to be updated. I hate those ugly {{update}} tags, though... –Juliancolton | Talk 17:20, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GA Sweeps

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. The article history has been updated to reflect this review. The main editor updated the information on my prompting, and this was really the main impediment to the article maintaining its GA status. Lampman (talk) 16:53, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Here's the Deal"

I'm surprised that in nine years since this article was authored, there's no reference of the 1960s-1980s history of this block -- particularly because it is VERY extensively documented in Ross Miller's 1996 major-publisher book "Here's the Deal." Someone went to the trouble of writing a 300+ page book about this very block! Does nobody read dead-tree books anymore? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paytonc (talkcontribs) 15:47, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

108 North State StreetBlock 37WP:COMMONNAME easily goes in favor of Block 37 according to Google Trends and Google search; however, I wasn't able to move the article as Block 37 already exists as a redirect.
