Lamerd County (Persian: شهرستان لامرد) is in Fars province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Lamerd.[3]

At the 2006 census, the county's population was 76,971 in 16,602 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 83,916 people in 21,210 households.[5] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 91,782 in 25,837 households.[2]

Lamerd was historically part of the region of Irahistan. The people of Lamerd are known as the Achomi people.[6][7][8]

Administrative divisions

The population history and structural changes of Lamerd County's administrative divisions over three consecutive censuses are shown in the following table. The latest census shows four districts, eight rural districts, and four cities.[2]

After the 2016 census, Kahnuyeh Rural District was established in Alamarvdasht District and Kheyrgu Rural District was separated from the district in the establishment of Kheyrgu District. In addition, Kamali Rural District was established in the new district.[9] The villages of Chah Varz[10] and Kheyrgu[11] were elevated to the status of cities.
