Kavar County (Persian: شهرستان کوار) is in Fars province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Kavar.[2]

In November 2010, Kavar District was separated from Shiraz County in the establishment of Kavar County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Kavar as its capital and only city at the time.[2]

The National Census in 2011 counted 77,836 people in 19,681 households.[3] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 83,883 in 23,013 households.[4]

Administrative divisions

The population history and structural changes of Kavar County's administrative divisions over two consecutive censuses are shown in the following table. The latest census shows two districts, four rural districts, and one city.[4]

After the 2016 census, the villages of Akbarabad,[5] Mozaffari,[5] and Tasuj[6] were elevated to city status.
