Khodaju (Persian: خداجو and Azerbaijani: خراجو), formerly Kharaju,[3] also Romanized as Kharājū and Khodajū,[4] is a city in, and the capital of, Saraju District of Maragheh County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran.[5] It also serves as the administrative center for Sarajuy-ye Sharqi Rural District.[6]

At the 2006 census, its population was 1,458 in 361 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 1,584 people in 430 households.[8] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,824 people in 572 households.[2]
