Website Spammer

50.193.133.65 is attempting to spam his website across multiple Wikipedia pages. He made a website, made up his own awards, and is putting them across multiple mixed martial artists pages. When I had reverted his edits and warned him, he initially reverted my reverts and deleted my warning. I re-added the warning, re-reverted his spam, and he again reverted my reverts. What proper actions can be taken from this point? MMA accomplishments are supposed to be for significant accomplishments, like winning a championship or breaking a record, something to that effect, not for a an award on a small website that this guy created a few months ago. By that standard, I could go buy a domain right now, make a fictitious award up, and put it on everyone's page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TBMNY (talkcontribs) 17:42, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Looking at edits by 50.193.133.65 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), I am guessing you are referencing links to strikescoremma.com: Linksearch en - meta - de - fr - simple - wikt:en - wikt:fr • MER-C Cross-wiki • Reports: Links on en - COIBot - COIBot-Local • Discussions: tracked - advanced • COIBot-Local - COIBot-XWiki - Wikipedia: en - fr - de • Google: search • meta • Domain: domaintools • AboutUs.org • Live link: http://www.strikescoremma.com - is that correct?
I'm not familiar with the subject matter nor the qualifications of the site being added. It appears to have been registered about a year ago, is hosted on Squarespace, and the oldest posting on it dates to Nov 8 2015 - although the owner of the blog appears to have also written material that was published in the past by ESPN[1][2], suggesting some degree of authority in the field.
As a result, I would suggest discussing the link at an interested Wikiproject (such as WikiProject Mixed martial arts or WikiProject Biography/Sports and games) to determine community consensus on the value of the site in the related articles. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:56, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

The content of King Bhumipol is misleading and untrue

Information you provided is totally untrue and misleading. Wikipedia is one source that everyone uses and trusts. Spam on Johann Sebastian Bach page

Under the "External Links" section on this page, Link summary https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Sebastian_Bach

a man named Peter Bach created a link to his own personal web site that sells coloring books, calendars, and all sorts of other junk. His web site is terribly written and is a joke. This link must be removed. He only put the link on Wikipedia to sell the junk on his website. Please delete the link to his website (see below)

Done Removed site from Johann Sebastian Bach as violation of WP:ELNO. Looks like these have been around for a while. The original request came via the talk page here, it looks like. I also found this addition with the offensive prose "A short likeable video presentation" and this edit, which added the offensive prose "The exciting website about all aspects regarding Johann Sebastian Bach and the Bach Family of Musicans". I've removed about half a dozen links to the site from various spots and bach-in-wechmar.de appears to have been added by the same guy. Site looks similar as well. Not sure we need to blacklist either though. Thanks for the report. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:30, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
I share the reserves against the bachonbach website, and the thoughts on not blacklisting it. Here's where I used it in an EL section: Bach's Nekrolog#External links – afaik it is the only website offering unrestricted access to an English translation of that writing. The translation is far from perfect but gives a rough idea of the content.
I'd warn against assuming that these links are always added to Wikipedia by people connected to the bachonbach website: as said I added that EL to the Bach's Nekrolog article, and have no connection whatsoever to the bachonbach website. --Francis Schonken (talk) 05:09, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
@Francis Schonken: I appreciate your response and have no problems with your well argued resubmission. While not all of the links were added by people connected to the site, some were added by or argued for by this guy, who appears to be directly related to the site. I think this website should be considered spam as it is a blog that belongs to or is written by a Wikipedia editor who had been adding it to articles they edit. It is not currently in use as I have just removed it from two articles [3] and [4]. The user in question is Lawsj123 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · blacklist hits · AbuseLog · what links to user page · count · COIBot · user page logs · x-wiki · status · Edit filter search · Google · StopForumSpam) who I asked last year not to add the site to Wikipedia, but noticed he had done so again recently. I am sure the user at least writes some of the blog entries because the username is similar to the name that most appears as a writer on the website, including both links that were added in the two diffs I provided above. anemoneprojectors 11:28, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Company promotion by SPA Avinudelman - mpsinc.com

Avinudelman (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · blacklist hits · AbuseLog · what links to user page · count · COIBot · user page logs · x-wiki · status · Edit filter search · Google · StopForumSpam) is a SPA that has added ELs to over twenty articles about programming languages, assembly languages in particular, each promoting the same company's "translator tools and services". Here is one example. The others all follow the same pattern. The page linked from each of these ELs provides no additional information about the respective article topic, only advertises a service for converting code from one language to another. Repeat spam vandalism in external links of "The Thin Blue Line (emblem)" page

An anonymous editor has reinserted an external link claiming to link to an "official website" for the The Thin Blue Line (emblem), although this emblem has no official organization with authority to assign such a status.
This has occurred four times so far, without at any time stating any reason for reinserting this link advertising an unofficial forum or substantiating the claim made.
As the probable cause for these actions is to use the emblem's good standing to drive traffic to the forum in question under false pretenses, the behavior would seem to fall under the category of spam vandalism; therefore to prevent the tarnishing of the emblem's good reputation I hereby request administrator aid in preventing future vandalism.
The same anonymous IP now performing these acts inserted this advertisement in this revision of the The Thin Blue Line (emblem) page while undoing another user's removal of a link to a page using public support for Law Enforcement Officers for obvious personal commercial gains, without mentioning that this additional action was performed or why.
I will remove the spam one more time and post notice in the edit summary linking to this report but, hoping to avoid an editing spam-war, will not act on this issue any further after that.
