Naoshi Kanno for DYK?

I stubbed it, but it needs a few citations, I have trouble parsing the larger article on Japanese wiki to verify some claims I added to it from a site that I think used ja wiki as a source. Can anyone help expand it a bit for a DYK? Would also be nice to add a referenced note which number of Japanese ace is he (as in, is he the best Japanese ace of WWII, the 5th, the 10th, etc.). List of World War II aces from Japan desperately needs to be converted to a sortable list... --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:47, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I removed details I couldn't verify. Can anyone find a source confirming he was enshrined in the Yasukuni Shrine? It would make a good DYK, but I can't verify this in English, and if no one can help within ~24h or so I'll remove this claim (the DYK window on this is expiring shortly). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:04, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nicknames for Japanese singers

There are lots of Japanese singers who have "official nicknames" where they are listed on their profile and sometimes the press refers to them, such as "Aibon" for Ai Kago, "Gomaki" for Maki Goto, etc. Template:Infobox musical artist states for the "alias" parameter that This field is not for nicknames such as "The Godfather of Soul" (James Brown) or "Nippy" (Whitney Houston), which are not the artists' official names. Would these count as official stage names and be appropriate for the parameter, or is it case-by-case (i.e. a secondary source is needed)? I know for people like Nozomi Maeda (Maenon) and Sumire Yoshida (Suu), they have been credited under or released books under their stage names. lullabying (talk) 15:55, 23 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request for information on WP1.0 web tool

Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
