kanji without article

Could someone possibly do one explaining 抄 ?

There is also a character with just the rightmost portion that looks like a face which could be disambiguated. I'm not sure how to type it but it appears in this speaker's name. Ranze (talk) 05:49, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"抄" can be a genre of books, like Gukanshō. It also used for a unit of measurement and the article ja:抄 in ja-wikipedia explains this way of using. The rightmost part of this Kanji says "少", means "a little" in English. For reference, what you supposed as a name in the image isn't her name. It says "少女", means "a little girl" (see Shōjo).--Akiyama(tentative) (talk) 19:01, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Citation for Rankin' Taxi cannabis advocacy?

Greetings, the article ja:ランキンタクシー is filed under the category "Marijuana" and states the Rankin' Taxi is involved in pro-cannabis marches in Japan. His article in English does not mention this, but I'd like to add such information so I can file him under Category:Japanese cannabis activists. Looking online, he has images of himself superimposed over a cannabis field, so I don't doubt he's a supporter of cannabis, but for BLP reasons I'd like to make sure it's cited before I add a category. I can find nothing in English, can anyone find any source in Japanese to back up this? Thanks! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 04:23, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese reading of the title of a Chinese poem?

O-hisashiburi. I know it's a long shot, but is anyone here familiar with 漢文書き下し?

[1]

Basically I am trying to romanize the title of a Japanese essay dissertation that I have cited in the article Li He, which quotes the title of a poem ("巫山高"), which obviously comes from the first line of the poem ("巫山高不極"), and while the title itself looks like ふざんたかし, p6 of the essay gives a 書き下し of the poem itself, where the first line is written as 巫山高きこと極まらず.

I'm not sure how I should write this in romanized spelling, as I'm pretty sure 99% of Japanese people reading an essay a source like this would instinctively pronounce it as Fuzan Takashi if they were just shown the title (the other 1%, and that's a high estimate, happening to be already familiar with this particular poem).

I think I need to be more careful: the 巫山高 in the title is in reference to one 巫山高 quoted on p1-2 that doesn't actually use 巫山高 in a sentence, and the one quoted on p6-7 is a poem composed three hundred years earlier and that one has a problem of how to read its title in Japanese, but I now think that the title of the Li He poem would be fine to read as Fuzan Takashi. It's still an interesting question if anyone wants to try their hand at it, but I'm just gonna change it back in this case. Hijiri 88 (やや) 06:35, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help creating ja.wikipedia Cannabis category tree

Hello, I've been building the category tree for Category:Cannabis by country in 13 languages, on any languages which I can understand well enough to sort and has enough articles specific to enough countries to justify the cat. I can't understand Japanese at all, though looking at ja:Category:大麻 I can see there are enough Japan, US, and India articles to justify categories. Can someone please help me create the following categories by proper name and file the applicable articles (not removing any current category, just adding these)?

Category:Cannabis by country
Category:Cannabis in Japan
ja:大相撲力士大麻問題
ja:大麻取締法
ja:大麻博物館
ja:ランキンタクシー
Category:Cannabis in the United States
ja:ウィズ・カリファ
ja:スヌープ・ドッグ
ja:NORML
ja:ハイ・タイムズ
ja:420 (大麻)
Category:Cannabis in India
ja:インドにおける大麻文化
ja:チラム (喫煙具)
ja:バングー
Category:Cannabis in the Netherlands
ja:オランダの薬物政策
ja:コーヒーショップ (オランダ)

@Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney: I recommend asking at ja:Wikipedia:Help for Non-Japanese Speakers since it would be the category structure there. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:01, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is this site commercial, a personal project, or user contributed, or ?

Dear Japan experts: I found this album listing which is on a site http://sudo.3.pro.tok2.com/, written mainly in Japanese. I am trying to find out if this is a reliable, independent published source of information. Can someone who speaks the language check this out for me? Thanks.—Anne Delong (talk) 15:37, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a guy's catalogue of his personal collection of 5,000 jazz and fusion LPs and CDs. His page about why he created the website is here, in Japanese but you can get the general idea from Google Translate. For this particular title, it looks to me like a faithful reproduction of the information on the cover of the LP or CD. It's better than Discogs. But it is a personal site. – Margin1522 (talk) 18:30, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot, Margin1522. That clears up my confusion nicely.—Anne Delong (talk) 23:13, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If someone wanted to do an intensive review, we could consider it to accepted as a reliable source. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:32, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
