I really like the condiment mayu, but I can't find any WP:RSs on it in English, just mentions on foodie blogs and such. Can someone help me figure out how it's spelled in Japanese, or better yet just help me get together a sentence or two of stub with a good basic footnote to a Japanese reliable source so we at least have a toehold? I'd never heard of this. A little searching came up with マー油 as the original Japanese. I didn't see anything that I'd really consider a good, reliable source, though. Cckerberos (talk) 03:09, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Does someone want to check whether this should exist or be deleted? Apparently, it's some term used in China to describe Japanese anime/comic/games? DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 06:09, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

"ACG" is essentially the Chinese term for "otaku culture"; it's a term which originated in Taiwan in the 1990s. It doesn't specifically refer to Japanese entertainment, however; it is a broad umbrella term which also includes domestically produced things that resemble the overall style of manga. --benlisquare_T•C•E 07:31, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi,

I've been trying to improve the NHK Cup (Go) article so that it something more than simply a few descriptive sentences and a list of past tournament champions. I think I've done OK so far, but I'd like to flesh it out a little more. I could simply translate what's on the Japanese Wikipedia page, but I'm not sure if that's really acceptable. Moreover, that are quite a few a sources I could add to support what I've added so far, but they are all in Japanese and I'm not sure if that's OK. To be honest, I am not sure if there are really many sources in English that contain information on this tournament worth using as an official source. Any feedback would be appreciated. What do you believe are the most important scholarly Japanology books without Wikipedia articles? Someone could write Wikipedia articles based on book reviews from academic journals, found on university databases. I have written articles on Sinology books using these book reviews: Sunflower Splendor, Born Red, Deng Xiaoping and the Making of Modern China, and De l'un au multiple.

• Step 1: Search for "book reviews" on a university database (University of Houston Library is still open for searching) - Type in the name of the book and then filter results by "book review".
• Step 2: Go to Wikipedia:RX and request the articles
• Step 3: Have fun writing the article!
