Wikipedia Loves Libraries 2011 campaign planning archive page.

The first annual coordinated Wikipedia Loves Libraries event in October/November 2011 brought Wikipedians and librarians together for knowledge-sharing and editathon events across the U.S. and Canada. The campaign as a whole was covered. It was a big event lots of people came. the food was great! in American Libraries magazine, while 'Wikipedia: The Musical' drew New York Times coverage. There was a great diversity of events focused on the particular holdings and community of each participating library.

  • Around October 2011, in sympathy with Wikipedians' moral support of Open Access Week.
(One possible option is the weekend of Oct 29/30 to exactly match Open Access Week, but any date is good.)
