Unfortunately, there was lower participation in the August 2011 Backlog Elimination Drive, and it showed in the final numbers. The top ten wikifiers combined for just over 600 articles, and while this seems like a lot, it was surpassed by the top two in our June drive, which finished with the top ten editors combining for over 1400 articles. As such, while many hundreds of articles were completed in the August drive, the backlog actually went up towards the end and we finished with a net loss of over 400 articles.
