This might be an impossible request, as the book does not appear to be in any commercial libraries, but I'm looking for the 12 pages which talk about the dance Money Musk. For Draft:Money Musk.

Sdkb, the link that Bruce1ee just added gives you the option of buying the work for $20. But if it were me, I'd probably reach out to the authors (David Smukler contact info; David Millstone contact info) first, and see if they might spot me the pages given the intended use. --Usernameunique (talk) 07:06, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Compassionate727, any word on which library has it? --Usernameunique (talk) 19:40, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Usernameunique: Liverpool Public Library (of New York, actually, so not overseas like I was told). My librarian suggests that this library is not lending anything right now, so this may or may not be related to COVID-19. Compassionate727 (T·C) 12:34, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I just searched Liverpool's own website, and if they have a copy they're not admitting so. I'll try calling my library and see if they might be willing to buy it. I very much appreciate the attempts to help! {{u|Sdkb}}talk 03:31, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

March 1988 Daily Variety article

{{stale}}

For Die Hard. I might not have enough information for this, I'm going from info in the AFI Catalog RE: the film, which just says it was a March 4, 1988 Daily Variety item in the text, but is absent from the citations at the end of the article so I can't specify. I've looked on Gale, Ebsco and Proquest but the DV articles there don't seem to go back far enough. If anyone has UCLA access it seems like you can access archives from here. The information is specific to the completion of filming of Die Hard. If the info is too vague I apologize and feel free to close the request.

Thanks, Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 12:26, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Darkwarriorblake: Congratulations on the Die Hard FA! Not sure if you are still interested in this — I found a Variety article on March 9, 1988 (not March 4 as AFI lists) that includes a brief two-sentence blurb about the film wrapping principal photography (which is what the AFI Catalog cites). Not sure about the date discrepancy. I've emailed it to you, in any case. DanCherek (talk) 16:02, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Times Guide to the House of Commons 2019

{{stale}} A number of UK Members of Parliament, mostly those first elected in 2019 (see List of United Kingdom MPs by seniority (2019–present), are missing an exact date of birth in their articles. I believe the most comprehensive publication with this info is The Times Guide to the House of Commons, which has most dates but is rather expensive to purchase. I feel this information is fairly important for such public figures, and it isn't generally published elsewhere, as far as I can tell. It needs a reliable source, due to disputes over whether other sites can be used to add the info.

For example, Theo Clarke only has a year of birth on her article. If someone has this book, I can provide a list of the MPs who are missing an exact date of birth, and then add the information with citations if it is provided. I've already done this for a few MPs, via a contact of mine with the book (but who I imagine may be a bit busy to reply to my requests for further dates).

Thanks, TrottieTrue (talk) 18:48, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Theo Clarke's birthday is 4 August 1985 from Companies House, not sure whether that can be a source.--Mike Rohsopht (talk) 17:01, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks Mike Rohsopht. I'm told that Companies House is a "primary source", and therefore not allowed for BLP DOBs - I added a load of month and year DOBs to the articles in question, and the edits got reverted or removed. See my Talk page, and [1]. I personally see no problem with using freely available government records, such as Companies House. I assume you found the exact date for Clarke in the documentation at her CH profile - the Officer page just shows the month and year, but I've been told that the exact date (including day) can often be found by looking at the documents in the company's filing history.
@User:Bruce1ee Thanks for fixing the citation - the way I originally posted it is what the RefToolbar auto-populates the fields with when the book's ISBN is entered.--TrottieTrue (talk) 18:21, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, has someone access to "d'Orbigny, Alcide Dessalines. Estudios sobre la geologia de Bolivia. Tip. de I. Argote, 1907."? For Guallatiri

Thanks, Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 16:25, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jo-Jo Eumerus, It looks like this work is available through Google Books: [2]. Per the introduction it looks like Estudios sobre la Geologia de Bolivia is a translation from French to Spanish of one part of d'Orbigny's 11-volume Voyage dans l'Amérique méridionale. Based on this, it likely comes from the third volume which is available at BHL (maybe part 1-2 in 1845): [3] —chaetodipus (talk) 05:46, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't seem like "Huallatiri" appears in that PDF, though. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:12, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Jo-Jo Eumerus, In Estudios, it looks like "Huallatiri"/"Gualatieri" occurs on p. 52 with a footnote mentioning that d'Orbingy and Petland refer to the volcano by a different name. "Guallatiri" occurs on p. 71. Voyage (vol. 3, 1846) discusses "Gualatieri" at p. 255. —chaetodipus (talk) 14:54, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've been trying to find it here but I can't see it on that page or any other. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 15:14, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Jo-Jo Eumerus, that's just volume one (tome premier) which doesn't cover the volcano apparently; doing a text search via Biodiversity Heritage Library for the name of the volcano in that volume finds no results. Volume three (tome troisième) is the volume where d'Orbigny passingly mentions the volcano and you're able to find text matching that search. The Estudios source you were looking for in particular was a translation by Victor E. Marchant of chapters 9, 10, and 11 of the volume three of d'Orbigny's Voyage which focus in particular on the geology of Bolivia. This is where d'Orbigny actually talks about Huallatiri/Gualatieri, at least according to the translator's note. —chaetodipus (talk) 04:58, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information about "Erika and Elsa Vopel" in Newspapers.com

Hello,

I was sent here by a application rejection on Wikipedia Library. Would anyone with access to Newspapers.com kindly search for information on the following persons and clip the articles for me:

  • Erika (or Erica) neé Vopel, born 1942 or 1943 in Hamburg, Germany
  • Elsa Vopel, her mother, dates of birth and death unknown

Both moved to Montreal in 1952 and recorded two LPs for Folkways Records. Some further information can be found in these Liner Notes (pg. 4 of the PDF), an identical biography but a different picture here (pg. 3 of the PDF).

Thanks, Linseneintopf (talk) 16:32, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

1990/2000s newspaper sources request for Tracy Claxton (New Haven Register & Newsbank)

{{Resolved}}

Hello. I'm looking for newspaper sources for my draft on Tracy Claxton:

  • Firstly, I'm looking for a 2002 New Haven Register source that has the quote "I am really glad for the opportunities for our young female athletes" by Claxton based on the above 2012 New Haven Register link.
  • Secondly, I'm looking for any 1990s and 2000s that discusses what Claxton did for her career after finishing playing college basketball at the University of Kansas and Old Dominion. Since Newspapers.com/Newspaperarchive.com hasn't been helping too much with this time period, I would like if someone check Newsbank for this part. I found a 2005 New Haven Independent source that says she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield until 2001 before joining the Liveable City Initiative in 2005. Unfortunately, I don't have any other sources that discusses these positions in depth. I also know she became a girls basketball coach for Hyde during this time period. If any sources mentions her coaching or other jobs, I'd really appreciate these sources.

Bit of a long shot but I don't suppose anybody has access to the following book on Irish maritime law? I'm looking to get Sinking of the Spanish trawler Sonia to Good Article level. 国分, 隼人 (2007). 将軍様の鉄道 北朝鮮鉄道事情. 新潮社. pp. 95–105. ISBN 978-4103037316.

This book would contain especially useful material for pages on Rolling Stock of the Korean State Railway, and articles on the metro. Currently, sources for some locomotives are extremely lacking, and this book is very comprehensive on that information, so I would like to have a look at some pages, from 95-105. If there are pages on the services/train numbers on the Korean State Railway that would also be very helpful.

  • Jim Stinson, "Conflict debate snags Harris Beach", Democrat and Chronicle (August 13, 2010), p. 5B.

A third from the same publication could use some love too -

  • "Wilcox Quits County Post for Position in Private Law Offices", Democrat and Chronicle (February 1, 1929), p. 25.

Glasgow Herald Newspaper, 1860

Hi Folks!!, Could somebody lookup a reference in a newspaper and take a screengrab, so I can examine it, please. Its mentioned in [8], page 80. Specifically I'm looking for the article from the Glasgow Herald on 18 January 1860. Its a stinging article telling Joseph Lister that he didn't get the job. I don't have access to anything like this. I did a good search but couldn't find it. It is public domain. thanks scope_creepTalk 21:03, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@scope_creep: I think this is what you're looking for, but let me know if you need me to clip a larger portion of that page. DanCherek (talk) 21:07, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @DanCherek: How goes it? I'm laughing. The speed you arrived with that. After the time I took to search for it. Well done. That is it. I will copy the image for later and create the text block around it. It will be at the Joseph Lister#Glasgow 1860–1869 section in the next couple of weeks, if you fancy looking taking a look in. Thanks very much. scope_creepTalk 21:26, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I started looking for it when I saw your post at the Help Desk, so it's less impressive than the four-minute response would lead you to believe Best of luck with the article. DanCherek (talk) 21:31, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Need sources for two Degrassi books

{{stale}} I need clippings and page numbers from two books/novels related to the original Degrassi Talks shows.

The first is a novel adaptation of character Christine Nelson (better known as Spike), and it includes expansions on plotlines from the series, such as a further look into the stigma the character experiences as a pregnant teenager. However, while some of the book is available for preview on Google, not all of it is and there is some parts of the book that I feel may be of significance to the article missing. I would like anything in the book to do with the reactions of other characters to Spike's pregnancy, as well as her being removed from school by the PTA/school board with the page numbers.

The second is a non-fiction book based off the series Degrassi Talks, and is hosted by Amanda Stepto, the actress who portrayed Spike. The introduction interview of Stepto is available on the Wayback Machine to quote and cite information from directly, but I prefer to cite the book and not the web page, and I need the page numbers, as well as a hi-res scan of the front cover if possible. @Melly42, I'm seeing on Worldcat only a few libraries in the US hold this US govt publication, so I'd assume that would mean it's unlikely to be in a German library. Sometimes it's worth trying to contact the authors, but this publication was in 1984. Even if they aren't retired, it's quite likely they never had a digitized version of their work. You might try contacting the National Forest Service Library? —valereee (talk) 12:48, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Melly42, this U.S. National Park Service service publication covers Raven's manzanita fairly extensively (see pp. 55–80), citing extensively from the 1984 FWS report. It looks like that NPS report is the current recovery plan for this subspecies per the Federal Register. There's also this Word document via San Francisco State University outlining the Presidio's plan for A. m. ravenii recovery (which they call the Presidio manzanita). I know the NPS report isn't quite the same resource you were looking for, but it's a recent work by the US government on the topic. —chaetodipus (talk) 06:28, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank's for this information. There are several current texts on the Raven's manzanita that cite the original FWS report as it gives a good overview on the conservation history of this plant (which is still the rarest plant on the mainland of the United States). --Melly42 (talk) 13:31, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
