The Religious Leaders Work Group is a working group of members of the Religion WikiProject dedicated to ensuring quality and coverage of biography articles.

Scope
It has not escaped our notice that many or most of the people who have articles on Wikipedia are included in one or more religious categories. This is fine. However, we do not have the personal, or the remit, to deal with all of these articles. On that basis, we will be limited ourselves to those individuals who have played a significant role in the establishment of religions and/or are highly regarded within faith traditions as examplars of some sort. More precisely, the group is expected to deal with articles relating to founders of religions and those counted, formally or informally, as Saints or the equivalent in faith traditions. Acknowledging the existing invaluable efforts of Wikipedia:WikiProject Saints, those individuals who are considered to be "saints" or the equivalent only within Christian churches will not be included in the scope of this group.
