WikiProject Omaha was started on May 3, 2008 to coordinate work on articles related to the article Omaha in the English Wikipedia. Some Wikipedians have adopted this as a project to better organize information in articles related to the city of Omaha in the U.S. state of Nebraska.

This WikiProject aims to coordinate improvement efforts on articles related to Omaha, and includes all articles in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. However, it welcomes contributions from the entire Omaha area. • Larsen, L.H. and Cottrell, B.J. (1997) The Gate City: A History of Omaha. University of Nebraska Press. - The first complete, modern history collection of note.
  • Larsen, L.H., Dalstrom, H.A., Dalstrom, K.C. and Cottrell, B.J. (2007) Upstream Metropolis: An Urban Biography of Omaha and Council Bluffs. University of Nebraska Press. - The most current version of comprehensive Omaha history available.
