  • WP:AVIATION/C

Welcome to the WikiProject Aviation Collaboration of the Month! This effort seeks to identify articles within the scope of the WikiProject— airports, aircraft and everything in between—that require improvement. Every month, a single article will be selected as the collaboration and everyone will work to improve it as much as possible.

Nominating articles

To nominate an article, add

===[[Name of article]]===

Nomination text. ~~~~

'''Support'''

# ~~~~

'''Comments'''

at the bottom of the list of candidates, filling in the name of the article and the nomination text (which should indicate why the article would benefit from a collaboration and what needs to be improved).

Please remember to add collaboration-candidate=yes to the {{WPAVIATION}} project banner at the top of the article's talk page (see the project banner instructions for more details on the exact syntax).

Current collaboration

The next collaboration will be selected on Friday, February 1 2008. The current time is 15:05, April 18, 2024.

Maintenance

At the beginning of every month, a new collaboration article should be selected. This should generally be the candidate with the most support (and the oldest candidate in case of a tie).

To archive the current collaboration:

  1. Remove {{WPAVIATION Collaboration}} from the top of the current collaboration article.
  2. Move the current article's nomination text to the archive.

To select the new collaboration:

  1. Add {{WPAVIATION collaboration}} to the talk page the new article.
  2. Move the new article's nomination text to the "Current collaboration" section.
  3. Update Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Collaboration/Current to point to the new article.
  4. Replace collaboration-candidate=yes with past-collaboration=<start date>–<end date> in the {{WPAVIATION}} project banner at the top of the new article's talk page.

Handley Page Halifax

Already a B-class article. A little brush up could get this to FA-class easily.. Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 18:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  3. User:Emt147, although shouldn't we do the Avro Lancaster first?

Comments

  1. User:Removebeforeflight More information is needed on this page instead the list of different versions.
  2. User:Petebutt More references would elevate this article well above B-class - anyone have sources? I have but they are 3,000 miles away.Petebutt (talk) 18:39, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

KC-97 Stratotanker

It is a great shame that 816 aircraft and crews working for 23 years do not have a better record written here. Ratsbew (talk) 23:55, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Petebutt References in the text portion would elevate this way above B-class. Any takers?Petebutt (talk) 18:43, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jet Engine

Several descriptions in the article are wrong, primarily the text describing turbofan and turbojet engines. For example, the turbofan fan description refers to it as having a "low pressure compressor acts as a fan", when in reality that is a turbojet. A turbofan has a first stage fan to drive in airflow. The attached image is also one of a turbojet and not a turbofan.

British Caledonian

In dire need of some TLC. Wexcan (talk) 02:45, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GB Airways

Airline has been taken over by Easyjet and will be defunct from 30 March 2008. Would be great to have the article brought up a few notches. Wexcan  Talk  00:44, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Juan Pablo Aldasoro

Juan and Eduardo were the Mexican equivalent of the Wright Brothers. A little cleanup and referencing is needed to make a better presentation of the efforts of these aviation pioneers.

Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571

Well known incident that was in the newspapers worldwide. Inspired the feature film Alive. 40th anniversary is this October. Hoping for enough improvement to be eligible a TFA by then.--T1980 (talk) 20:25, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article is quite messy, specially the reference formatting. I think the company is fairly transparent about its operation, so I think this article is an FA potential. Sp33dyphil (Talk) (Contributions)(Feed back needed @ Talk page) 23:55, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
