Requests

List requested articles about machinima-related topics here; provide a brief description and rationale the subject matter is sufficiently notable.

  • Chris Burke (media artist) — Producer, director, and host of This Spartan Life. Apparently did the sound for Game: On. Has done sound for the ILL Clan in the past. Notable chiptune artist who goes by the alias "glomag".
  • Randall Glass — Yup, we've delinked him for being non-notable before. But his Warthog Jump video was nominated for Best Editing at the 2002 Machinima Film Festivall and took home two Rockets on Prisoner awards. Paul Marino has cited WJ as a video that could only be practically done in machinima. Rooster Teeth has cited WJ as direct inspiration and flipping the Warthog onto the Red Base in episode 9 was their direct homage to WJ. Glass also did the voice of Vic in Red vs. Blue season 1. Another video of his, A Few Good G-Men, won Best Virtual Performance at the 2005 Machinima Film Festival.
  • It recently occurred to me that an article on The art of Machinima wouldn't be a bad idea either. So long as there are some professional reviews.--Drat (Talk) 11:30, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Common Sense Cooking with Carl the Cook - ILL Clan. Reputedly the first machinima performed live in front of an audience. - download page Don't forget the Discovery Channel video, potentially useful independant source.
  • Hardly Workin' - ILL Clan. Second Lenny & Larry film. Cineplex review. Scroll down. No PPJ review available. Quake 2 version download DivX version download Machinima.com showcase Production techniques.
  • Apartment Huntin' - ILL Clan's first film. Noted for cartoonish style and improv humour. Introduced Lenny & Larry. Cineplex review PPJ review. Pick a date and view source. web.archive.org seems to be down at the moment. QML review. Quake version download Quicktime download.
  • Rick Jones: Master Detective 2 - Comedy. Parody of "Blaxploitation" films. High reviews, complex special effects (for the time). After The Fact article on machinima.com showcase Cineplex review. Scroll down. No PPJ review available. Quake 2 download
  • A Warrior's Life 90 Minutes long. High reviews. No audio dialogue, only text. Very "art-y". Some spelling and grammar errors (English is author's second language). Cineplex review PPJ Review. Pick a link and view source. Quake 2 download.
  • Dantooine Five-O: Anarchic, Python-esque comedy. Good reviews. Cineplex review, scroll down. QML review. PPJ review. I'll upload a 'making of' story when I can. I'd write it myself but I don't know if it's allowed, as I directed it. --Psyklax 08:31, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
