Suspected sockpuppets

This is ongoing multiple IP racist vandalism by a range of IPs from Malaysia, most of which concerns Lewis Hamilton. Typically this kind of thing, and [1] etc. Another facet of it is the hoaxed "death" of Felipe Massa here, and [2]. There is also minor user talk page vandalism [3] and other more general vandalism [4]. The first two IPs listed are blocked, and the third received a short block, after which the IP resumed vandalism. Various articles have had to be protected, including both racing drivers already mentioned, 2009 Australian Grand Prix and 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix.
User:Gokul009, a Malaysian editor who mainly edited motor racing articles but has been very quiet for the last few months, recently made this edit [5] and undid it 10 minutes later [6]. My suspicion is that it's the same person, who just vandalised without realising he was logged in. Two hours after this blatant, ugly racist edit by one of the IPs, Gokul009 made his first edit in 5 months. One and a half hours later, Gokul009 made the above racist "mistake" on the same article under his own name.
I am very reluctant to accuse someone of racism without proper foundation, and I know this could have been an unfortunate mistake - but this has been such a serious problem, and this is suspicious enough that it could be investigated and Gokul009 can be eliminated or dealt with accordingly.

Clerk declined no real need for CU in this case. I recommend blocking the following ranges for a short period of time (although I may have missed some, and the 115.132.107.0/24 one is a bit of a wildcard, so I recommend the patrolling admin looks over this):
- 115.134.0.0/20 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial))
- 115.135.168.0/21 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial))
- 115.132.107.0/24 (block range · block log (global) · WHOIS (partial))

Gokul009 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) was blocked on 5 April 2010 for sockpuppetry and racist vandalism. On 7 April MichaelSchumacherFerrari (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) started editing again after an inactive period of over 1 year and 3 months. His first edit after this break was an obscure change to some minutiae on one of Gokul009's many sandbox pages [8]. Prior to that this editor had worked on List of Mayday episodes, which Gokul009 has also edited [9], [10]. Other similar editing habits include articles on Formula One, MotoGP, and air crashes. They are both quite picky about the exact reasons why drivers retire from Formula One Grands Prix, which is how MichaelSchumacherFerrari caught my eye. I believe these two accounts belong to the same person, i.e. Gokul009 is evading his indefinite block. Bretonbanquet (talk) 14:39, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Well this and this is just odd. They seem to like to make similar sandbox subpages. Also look at and older version of Gokul009's userpage before the tag. It is somewhat similar to User:MichaelSchumacherFerrari current page. wiooiw (talk) 19:06, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- Another note about the sandboxes (similar behavior), MichaelSchumacherFerrari decided to make a sandbox with random characters.Gokul009 has done the same thing numerous of times. just a few wiooiw (talk) 09:29, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
