BooG!ie

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 14:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible search term due to the nonsensical ! in the middle of the word and the fact that the G is capitalized. Tavix |  Talk  20:08, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. It looks like that's the name of the actor, not the character, and he goes by "BooG!ie" as a nickname. According to his IMDB, he's known for a few different minor roles, not just in iCarly. In that case, I might want to change my nom into a WP:REDLINK rationale. On a semi-related note, BooG!ie's real name, Bobby Bowman, redirects to Family Guy and I can't find any mention of him there. Tavix |  Talk  00:11, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, how strange. I assumed it was a character nickname. --BDD (talk) 16:06, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Komodia

The result of the discussion was 'dabify. --BDD (talk) 14:51, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

After the bundling of Superfish on Lenovo computers broke this week, the album is not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Komodia" anymore. I think a disambiguation page is in order. RJaguar3 | u | t 19:31, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate per nom. Ars Technica says that Komodia is used by many Fortune 500 companies internally, and has a Parental Filter program, all of which use the same faulty certificate, so the Komodia company is likely to be notable enough to have an article. At any rate, pointing to Superfish is a good idea. -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 07:46, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

King Olmec

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. JohnCD (talk) 18:04, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible search term. To my knowledge, aside from this redirect, the character from Legends of the Hidden Temple has never been referred to as "King Olmec". RJaguar3 | u | t 19:04, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • My first thought was to investigate if we covered rulers of the Olmec people, but "Little is directly known about the societal or political structure of Olmec society". It sounds like they could've been the first communists for all we know. It would be unreasonably speculative to say they had kings in any sense. --BDD (talk) 19:29, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete misleading. One would expect that the kings of the Olmec would be found with this search term -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 07:47, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above. --Lenticel (talk) 23:47, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"swimmer"

The result of the discussion was delete. JohnCD (talk) 18:05, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused by this redirect. Whenever I try searching for any term with quotations around it, the search engine removes the quotes and redirects me to the article without it. Because of that, I can't think of a situation in which this redirect would be of use to anyone. Tavix |  Talk  18:12, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete weird quotation marks, and unlikely redirect. -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 07:48, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep and refine target. JohnCD (talk) 22:55, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This phrase isn't actually mentioned once at the destination article. JZCL 16:45, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, maybe it should be. I heard it in the 1960s in Cambridge, Massachusetts during an anti-war march. Anyway how about redirecting to Anti-war slogans or to a similarly named section in Opposition to United States involvement in the Vietnam War? --Uncle Ed (talk) 16:52, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I added it to Opposition_to_United_States_involvement_in_the_Vietnam_War#Slogans_and_chants. Okay? --Uncle Ed (talk) 17:03, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Report (fireworks)Explosion  (links · history · stats)     [ Closure: keep/delete ]

I have to confess that I do not understand this redirect. Only a week old. JZCL 16:24, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comments: It's not a week old, it's been around for over a year (created in February 2014). Second, to understand the redirect, one would simply have to read the first paragraph of the target: "When caused by a man-made device such as an exploding rocket or firework, the audible component of an explosion is referred to as its "report" (which can also be used as a verb, e.g., "the rocket reported loudly upon impact".)" I think the redirect makes sense. However, I'm not sure how useful it is because of the "fireworks" qualifier. Besides, fireworks aren't the only explosive that reports. Tavix |  Talk  17:39, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, my mistake: perhaps I am still in 2014! JZCL 18:44, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tavix' explanation. Maybe the disambiguator should be different (explosives?) but it makes enough sense. Ivanvector (talk) 15:35, 23 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely redirect name. Magioladitis (talk) 20:37, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as {{R from misspelling}}, with which I have marked it. Seems likely enough. It's been up for CSD twice, on 5 and 12 February 2013, both by User:Randykitty as {{db-duplicatetemplate}}, and has survived both (without, as far as I can tell, any comment beyond ec's in the history). • It's certainly not a hard and fast rule, but with two missing letters, this is a double-typo redirect, which is often deleted. And there could be potential for confusion with a company called Inbox, though that's hypothetical. On the other hand, it's probably harmless. --BDD (talk) 16:03, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. BDD has some good points, but I think the "potential for confusion" trumps any notion that it's harmless. There are several companies called "Inbox" or use "Inbox" in their names. I found this company known solely as "Inbox", Inbox Business Technologies, inbox.com, etc. Tavix |  Talk  17:48, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. I've tagged it with {{R from merge}} and {{R unprintworthy}}. --BDD (talk) 14:53, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Completely unnecessary, or am I missing something? JZCL 21:31, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, it's because in that discussion it's hidden by a pipe (Villians). Si Trew (talk) 07:52, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Pinging SynergyBlades, who redirected this title. Are we sure an actual merge took place? Looking at the history of the target article, I don't see it. (It should be around here.) If there was a merge, we definitely need to preserve the attribution history. If not, we could probably safely delete. It's an unlikely search term either way: the need for the disambiguator is questionable, and "other" villains? Other than whom? So even if we do keep, it may make sense to move without leaving a redirect to something else. --BDD (talk) 16:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I do believe that a partial merge did take place. There's only one character that appears in both the current character list and the version of the villain list that was redirected: EggRobo. Reading both sections, it's clear that some of the language in that section is the exact same, although the current version has less detail. So I went to the August 2008 current character list, and it turns out that the EggRobo section didn't exist before SynergyBlades added it about 4 days before (s)he redirected the villain list. Unnecessary redirect JZCL 21:41, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as harmless, although the capitalisation is wrong (FarmVille). I am not sure if the section Farmville#Crops would be better as an {{R to section}} as it's close to the top anyway. Si Trew (talk) 07:57, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete The general topic is discussed at the target article, but with a syntax like this, a reader would expect a list, and we don't seem to have such a list. I'd be fine with something like Farmville crops, but this just seems more likely to disappoint than to be helpful. It's not like readers wouldn't know to just look at FarmVille itself. --BDD (talk) 15:55, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, due to the fact that there is not a list of crops at the FarmVille article and there is no history that needs to be preserved. Tavix |  Talk  18:45, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per BDD and Tavix. Delete as "misleading". No real list to redirect to. --Mr. Guye (talk) 18:59, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Subject is no longer mentioned in target article NCIX (Company), I can't find another reasonable target to redirect to, and redirect has no history of any value. Also included in this discussion is Linus sebastian. Suggest both be deleted. -- Sam Sing! 09:47, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've moved the target article back to NCIX, as NCIX (Company) was unnecessary disambiguation (and incorrect capitalization). --BDD (talk) 18:18, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
