Retarget to the primary topic of the term, Town square; this is a WP:DIFFCAPS case. The argument being made in the move discussion at "Main Square" is that the capitalized version refers to something different from the lowercase version, which requires that the lowercase version not be the equivalent of the capitalized version. bd2412 T 18:12, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Keep – I don't understand the logic of this deletion request. It is pretty normal for upper and lower case versions of ambiguous terms to go to the same disambig page. Dicklyon (talk) 18:25, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • This is not a deletion request, but a retargeting request. I agree that the redirect should be kept, but think that it should be kept as a redirect to the primary meaning of the lowercase term. It may be helpful for you to review WP:DIFFCAPS. I believe you yourself have said that the lowercase version is "generic" while the capitalized version will refer to the specific locations listed on the page. There are no lowercase uses that meet WP:DABMENTION. bd2412 T 18:35, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
  • Keep per Dicklyon. Trying to disambiguate this term per WP:DIFFCAPS, in this case, doesn't seem helpful. Also, I am leaning more towards the lowercase term referring to a market square. Steel1943 (talk) 19:02, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above - just because we can distinguish between different subjects using capitalisation does not mean that it is always a good idea to do so. In this case if there was a clear primary topic for "Main Square", then I could see an argument for that being an article and moving the disambig page elsewhere, but there isn't and there is also no primary topic for the lowercase "Main square". If there was a need to separate the dab pages, e.g. for length, then WP:DIFFCAPS would be an appropriate division - however with just 11 entries there is no such need and readers are best served by a single dab page reached from either capitalisation. It's also worth noting that at the moment the move proposal at talk:Main Square, used as the basis for this proposal, is being unanimously opposed. Thryduulf (talk) 12:10, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • The reasoning by which that proposal is being opposed is that "Main Square" means something different from "Main square", prompting this nomination. bd2412 T 05:02, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

Cy was a kitten that lived for one day due to Holoprosencephaly. However, Cy isn't mentioned at the target article and as such it isn't a helpful redirect. Tavix |  Talk  07:40, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
