Order of merit

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was withdrawn. Thryduulf (talk) 23:15, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Order of merit" would link to "Order of Merit" without a redirect, as does "oRDeR OF MeRit" The Theosophist (talk) 17:37, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep I am confused. Weihang7 (talk) 17:47, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why keep if you are confused?--The Theosophist (talk) 18:04, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wikilinks are case-sensitive except on first letter. For instance, the example given above, oRDeR OF MeRit, doesn't link. If the redirect is deleted, Order of merit (small "m") will become a redlink. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:18, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, I withdraw the proposal.--The Theosophist (talk) 20:10, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question: if oRDeR OF MeRit doesn't link, then why does it take you to Order of Merit if you search it?--The Theosophist (talk) 20:11, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably because searching behaviour is not the same as link behaviour. :)  — Amakuru (talk) 20:33, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is true: see Help:Link#Wikilinks and Help:Searching#Using the search to directly get to a page. The Wikilink mechanism does not use the (somewhat complicated) methods used by the search box. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:40, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikigraphist redirects created by reverted pagemoves of blocked YellowPegasus (talk · contribs)

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete all as creations of a banned user (WP:CSD#G5). Thryduulf (talk) 10:43, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Delete G5 if possible. YellowPegasus (talk · contribs) moved these templates to the "Wikigraphist" titles, before being reverted. He has since been blocked for evading a block, and performing the same kind of stuff that he got blocked for previously. These titles make no sense. 70.24.247.127 (talk) 16:22, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wait. There is a pending SPI case (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/PIPony22) regarding YellowPegasus. It's best to wait for confirmation of the link between accounts before speedy deleting per G5. Thryduulf (talk) 23:05, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Reply what about regular deletion? These are still not useful recently created redirects. If G5 isn't possible, there's still the option of regular deletion. -- 70.24.247.127 (talk) 06:06, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • There is no hurry! There is little point in spending much effort on redirects that might be speedily deleted. If they aren't (I'm keeping an eye on the SPI case) then I'll opine further. Thryduulf (talk) 17:54, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
        • And there isn't any hurry. RFD runs through 1-week. At the end, regular deletion can take place. As well, YellowPegasus (talk · contribs) has been indef'd already as a sock. -- 70.24.247.127 (talk) 05:14, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Based on strong behavioural evidence and likely techincal evidence, the creator has been blocked as the sockpuppet of a banned user. Thryduulf (talk) 10:43, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • User talk:96.50.22.205/Templates for creation/Empty article → Template:Db-a3 (links to redirect • history • stats)     [ Closure: keep/delete ]

Delete XNR; also the former target, {{empty article}} created by blocked YellowPegasus (talk · contribs), failed to gain acceptance and was redirected to the A3 template 70.24.247.127 (talk) 00:09, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
