The result of the discussion was delete. Salvio Let's talk about it! 10:57, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cross-namespace redirect that I'm sure could be targeted somewhere more useful. Simply south...... playing tunes for 5 years 18:49, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Although there is nothing obviously needing this shortcut at the moment, there is almost never a need for a WP: shortcut to a user's user page, and it's very likely that there will be something in the future far more deserving of this redirect. • Delete - Vanity Shortcut. Wikipedia:MIHIR should go as well as it points to the same userpage. Exit2DOS CtrlAltDel 23:08, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - added suggested extra 1. Bridgeplayer (talk) 00:03, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both as utility-free vanity redirects. Bridgeplayer (talk) 23:42, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Cute. But pure vanity redirect and abuse. —mako 14:29, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Suggestion Actually may I suggest at least the first one be deleted then recreated and redirected to Wikipedia:WikiProject Royalty and Nobility. Simply south...... playing tunes for 5 years 14:45, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • I wondered about that target, and it is the best current target, but the project predates the creation of this redirect quite considerably and so nobody has apparently seen the need to create it. I think it best therefore to leave it free for a future use (I can forsee it being the acronym for something for example). Thryduulf (talk) 21:47, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2001–02 Florida Atlantic Owls football team

Delete. Makes no sense to have a redirect title covering two seasons when the 2002 season has been split off into its own article. DeFaultRyan 16:17, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Template:Florida Atlantic Owls football season navbox which links to both articles. Having a redirect from the original location of the content makes sense from a navigational point of view as this will help people find it (from old links, mirrors, bookmarks, etc). I originally was going to suggest redirecting to the main article, Florida Atlantic Owls football, but that contains no relevant prose and the template, which contains the only link I spotted to either the 2001 or 2002 articles, is collapsed by default on that page. Thryduulf (talk) 16:53, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Simply south...... playing tunes for 5 years 20:18, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - five more allied redirects added for completeness. Bridgeplayer (talk) 21:30, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I basically agree with nominator although, since the academic year went from 2001 to 2002, there is a logic to this and it's not impossible to imagine that folks would want to refer to the season in this way. That said, the good these are likely to do certainly seems minimal and as long as incoming links are cleaned up, I highly doubt these will be missed. —mako 14:33, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete -- plausible in situations such as 2010 LSU Tigers football team, where (at least) one game is played the following year, but this isn't the case here. Seems to be the leftovers of a strange page construction, which is no longer how the page is written. Unnecessary and potentially confusing.
