New Zealand Institute in not affiliated with the Royal Society of New Zealand. RSNZ page does not mention NZI. 72.33.71.221 22:56, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • They're two completely different entities and each deserve their own page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.110.145.13 (talk) 23:44, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you have verifiable content from reliable sources that clearly demonstrates the appropriateness of the Institute for a standalone article in the encyclopedia, simply overwrite the redirect with that content. The redirect does not need to be deleted from pagehistory in order to start the article. Rossami (talk) 00:31, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article page with no history redirecting to its talk page. I don't know why – Gurch 16:42, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It redirects because the page was moved. The pagehistory shows that at the time of the move, it was more of a commentary and some notes about a potential future article, not even a stub of the encyclopedia article itself. The Talk page notes have since been expanded but no one has yet turned the page into a real article. Reviewing the notes, I'm not convinced that the subject meets our notability requirements or that the article will ever be written but I'm willing to give the original contributor the benefit of doubt for a while longer. If this is turned into a real article, having the redirect in the pagehistory does no harm. So keep unless an AFD (or Prod) determines that the subject fails our notability criteria. Rossami (talk) 19:24, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Tricky one, this - I think AFD might be the place to take it instead, or possibly MFD. Deleting the redirect would leave a Talk page with no article, but containing (quasi-)encyclopedic content, and that seems like a situation to avoid. It probably makes more sense to delete the Talk page first, then speedy-delete the redirect to it, rather than the other around - since that's where the actual content is. • I've created a stub from the info provided. Person is listed in a Russian Jewish Encyclopedia [1].-- Matthead discuß!     O       08:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moldova/Did you know/More → Portal:Moldova/Did you know/More

The result of the debate was Deleted. New location was noted in deletion summary. Also, the page is linked to from Portal:Moldova and it will show up under the new page's name in user's watchlists and contributions. -- JLaTondre 11:38, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Left over from page move after someone created the page in the wrong namespace. No incoming links – Gurch 16:34, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep for now. You just executed the pagemove today. The authors and readers who were working on the site at the wrong title need a chance to find the new page. The redirect points them to the correct place. Rossami (talk) 19:18, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • It doesn't seem to really be in use, though, so I don't think deleting would really be harmful. — xDanielx T/C 05:34, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • While lots of inbound links are evidence that a redirect is useful, a lack of those links is not evidence of the reverse. Remember that in a perfect world, all our pages would be perfectly updated and all our redirects would be orphans. Redirects after a pagemove still serve to guide the prior editors and readers to the new location if, for example, they have a link preserved outside Wikipedia or are just typing in the title from memory. Rossami (talk) 23:44, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as a cross-namespace redirect of a sub-subpage and note the new location in the deletion summary; that way, anyone who tries to visit the old page will know where to go. – Black Falcon (Talk) 22:59, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the debate was keep. WjBscribe 01:21, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please delete Flux (VRML and X3D) and Talk:Flux (VRML and X3D) redirects, because they are not needed at all. Article and its talk now has simpler statement (software) instead of complicated statement (VRML and X3D) in parentheses. Wikinger 14:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, harmless. --UsaSatsui 17:01, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, complicated and useless for search, not needed. Wikinger 18:12, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Please do not "vote" in a discussion that you initiated. Your opinion is quite clear from your nomination above. Modify your original comment if necessary or respond to the comments of others, but adding a subsequent opinion tagged with the bold "delete" gives the impression that you are trying to have your opinion double-counted and created risk of confusion for the admin who eventually has to close the discussion. Rossami (talk)
  • Keep. 198.189.198.2 19:10, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. The redirects document a pagemove conducted earlier today. The redirect serves to point the original editors and authors of the page to the correct title for their efforts. (Pagemoves are also generally considered "useful history" per the first keep-if criterion above.) Rossami (talk) 19:15, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
