"County Fire Officer". → Chief Fire Officer
A County Fire Officer redirect page exists also; I don't think an extra redirect to include those extra punctuation marks is necessary. -- ben 06:59, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Different Drum → Boss Drum
"Different Drum" was a well known 1967 Mike Nesmith tune that was a top ten hit for Linda Ronstadt, and it's for some reason, redirecting to a dance album that neither shares the name "Different Drum", nor contains any songs entitled "Different Drum". Anyone looking for "Different Drum" would presumably be thinking of the Ronstadt hit, and would be looking for that. (I was.) --Markt3 06:56, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Delete - seems clear enough -- ben 07:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Comment: I've changed the page to a song stub instead of a redirect. There was no need to file this for deletion if that was your intention, Mark. This can probably be closed now, unless there's evidence that the Ronstadt thing is a hoax... -- nae'blis 16:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps also in future you could check who created the redirect (in this case, me, and I thought I had a reputation of knowing what I'm doing), and the incoming links. If I'd have been asked I would have told: Different Drum was also the name of an album of remixes by The Shamen, essentially a version 2 of their Boss Drum album. I'm quite happy to give the slot up but just want to poiny out that asking around and sorting things out informally is rather better than a cumbersome process such as this. --kingboyk 22:46, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

WB 61 → KASW
KASW is on channel 61, it is a WB affiliate. However, The CW and the station's channel 6 cable placement (and WB 6 branding) make this an unlikely target for someone looking for info. KASW is OK, but WB 61 is not. They call themselves WB 6. TrackerTV 18:06, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Global_Justice (capital 'J') redirects to Global justice movement, but: 1. they're not the same thing. GJ is an issue in political philosophy, not a movement; and 2. the issue in political philosophy is dealt with in Global_justice (small 'j'). So, this redirect just causes confusion. Because WP guidelines on disambiguation and on the wikiproject TV episodes, clearly point that it is better to avoid the parenthesis when the title of the episode doesn't belong to anything else. The format and content of the article are enough indication of the topic being a TV episode and the tencency on episode list articles' wikis is to hide disambiguation parenthesis anyway. The same problem happened with the rest of the currently developed articles about Batman: The Animated Series episodes all because a user recently moved all the articles with no parenthesis in the same manner T-man, the wise 00:19, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Pages in the same situation are:
- Christmas With the Joker
- It's Never Too Late
- I've Got Batman In My Basement
- The Cat and the Claw: Part I
- The Cat and the Claw: Part II
- Heart of Ice
- Beware The Gray Ghost
- Feat of Clay: Part I
- Feat of Clay: Part II
- Joker's Favor
- Fear of Victory
- Almost Got 'Im
- The Man Who Killed Batman
...All those redirects must be erased and the pages named with the unnecesary parenthesis disambiguation moved with the proper title, according to the naming conventions. Most episode articles are not developed yet, so we are on good time to fix this little problem.
Also backing me up on my point is Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television)#Episode articles--T-man, the wise 16:46, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

POV redirect, should logically point to Hermes, a page which actually has a whole section discussing the cult of Hermes, but POV editor keeps pointing at Hermetism, which doesn't even mention the word "cult" once. No incoming links. Alternatively, please redirect to Hermes and protect. -999 (Talk) 21:03, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, I pointed it to Hermetism, as I created amidst working on a sandbox article User:King_Vegita/Sandbox/History_of_Hermetism_and_Hermeticism. A citation to the fact that Cult of Hermes refers to Hermetism is mentioned in that sandbox article with a citation of "(Churton p. 10)" and the source being:
- Churton, Tobias. The Golden Builders: Alchemists, Rosicrucians, and the First Freemasons. New York: Barnes & Noble, 2002. ISBN 13: 978-0-7607-7610-0 & 10:0-7607-7610-5.
- As Cult of Hermes does specifically refer to Hermetism, it is more sensible that it redirect there than to Hermes, especially since the Cult of Hermes was based around not only the greek god Hermes which the article entitled Hermes is about, but around Djehuty or Thoth, whom was seen by the Greeks as being substantially the same as Hermes.
- KV(Talk) 22:16, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, I disagree. There is information about the cult of Hermes in multiple places. A disambiguation page would be more approriate, but I don't think the redirect is needed at all. Nothing links to it. -999 (Talk) 22:55, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Redirects don't only exist for wikilinking. WP:REDIRECT states "Other names, pseudonyms, nicknames, and synonyms" as a use for redirects, as are the less applicable "Abbreviations", "Misspellings", "Other spellings, other punctuation", "Scientific names", among others.KV(Talk) 23:47, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with 999 - the phrase "Cult of Hermes" has multiple referents. I've created a disambig page. —Hanuman Das 03:27, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
