- This does not belong at MfD. It is an unupdated portal component - under the jurisdiction of Wikipedia:WikiProject Nigeria. To redirect to another portals news is ridiculous - readers looking for Nigerian news do not need to be told that South Africa has a new president, or that peace talks have broken down in Kenya. How inactive portal components are handled is that they are hidden from the main portal, and tagged for update. the skomorokh 17:06, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that this does not need to be at MfD. If asked, I would say that I think a redirect is a much better idea than deletion, as is proposed. Redirection to continental news, where there is no national news being updated is far superior to finding yourself looking at a deletion log. How you say inactive portal components are handled is not supported by this. If there is documented guidance on how to handle such things, I would like to know, as such things routinely come to MfD. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:45, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
