Focus

The edit-a-thon offers a range of topics around the Civil War and American art. These include research around 6 significant artworks and their related artists from The Civil War and American Art exhibition, and the Civil War history of the Smithsonian American Art Museum's main building.

Work can also continue on:

  • Adding categories to all of our images on the Commons: Civil War and American Art Edit-a-thon, and Masterpiece Museum Edit-a-thon
  • Articles related to the 30 "Masterworks" that were added to the Commons during our last edit-a-thon, Masterpiece Museum, Masterpiece Museum Commons
  • Articles related to works on the Commons from the Google Art Project Google Art Project Commons.

For these last two, we're looking to use these images to illustrate relevant articles about the artists, the artworks, the scene or theme depicted, or the artistic period or genre.
