  • Participants: Open to anyone interested in this experience: beginners welcome! débutant(e)s bienvenu(e)s! beginners welkom! Experienced Wikipedia editors will be present and will share their knowledge in editing Wikipedia.
  • What to Bring: Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. Light lunch and drinks will be provided, as well as childcare.
  • A temporary Art+Feminism Library will be set up by the participants who are invited to bring their books and digital documents to feed the edit-a-thon!

  • presentation of F/LAT and Free/Libre and Open Source
  • presentation of Wikimedia & Wikipedia (project, structure, ...)
  • the gender gap on wikipedia

14:00

  • intro on editing Wikipedia (creation of a user account and first steps)

17:00

  • discussion on and around Wikipedia as a specific object: the notion of Encyclopedia, the notion of community (and the power and hierarchy issues that can arise), a feminist approach to wikipedia editing.
