Rescuers assisting Jews during the Holocaust

I'm concerned that this article/list makes too subjective a determination in choosing examples of people who fit the bill of "rescuers assisting Jews during the Holocaust". The first three-fourths of the article (at least the daughter article links) is more objective, because we can objectively determine who received the Righteous Among the Nations recognition. However, in as much as the article does that, it is repetitive with List of Righteous among the Nations by country. The portion of the article that is not repetitive with that list, has no objective criterion. As you can see on the talk page and article history, inclusion is often a source of dispute. To use the example of two featured articles (Joel Brand and Pope Pius XII) the nature of someone's actions during the holocaust can be a controversial subject, as can their classification as "rescuer". Thus, Wikipedia should not be in the business of creating such lists from scratch; only reporting the lists of others. As was pointed out in the similar (successful) deletion debate for Category:People who helped Jews during the Holocaust, this is too much like a category for someone who deserved an Oscar but didn't get it. - This AfD nomination was incomplete. It is listed now. DumbBOT (talk) 12:54, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep: This article may be better off as "List of . . ." But this is still a valid topic, an important part of world history. And the people mentioned in this article are notable. Hellno2 (talk) 17:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I do not dispute the notability of the people or the need for such a list. Such a list already exists, as do the bios; it's this additional combination that I object to as original research. Savidan 00:38, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Keep — The article needs a new name though, and to echo Hellno2 again, a "List of..." is a good idea. Leonard^Bloom (talk) 17:26, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
