Definition of "celebrity" is entirely arbitrary (list contains entertainers, but also politicians, doctors, etc.; if we take "celebrity" to mean "notable person," the list is meaningless because, per WP:ANYBIO, being appointed confers automatic notability). –Roscelese (talk ⋅ contribs) 23:22, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete - concur with the nominator that "celebrity" isn't a very good criterion. -- Whpq (talk) 16:12, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment. I would take issue with the statement that "being appointed confers automatic notability". To GBE, DBE or KBE certainly (since they confer knighthoods or damehoods, which certainly qualify as "a well-known and significant award or honor"), to CBE probably, to OBE or MBE only maybe, depending on why the appointment was made. Most MBEs are not automatically notable enough for an article. -- Necrothesp (talk) 19:54, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. As criteria for celebrity is indeed arbitrary, this list becomes WP:OR/WP:SYN (subjective debatable criteria is WP:OR, as I can choose different criteria and come to the different list with the very same name). Also can delete per WP:SALAT. Ipsign (talk) 07:54, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Rename/Repurpose: List of entertainers appointed to the Order of the British Empire would take in the great majority of the entries, seems better defined, and useful. --GRuban (talk) 14:25, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete there is an entire swarm of articles at that already cover this. See:
